Amir Khan/Willy Blain?

Just noticed that Khan and Blain are ranked #47 and #48 on Boxrec. I don't know much about Blain but is there any chance of these two fighting in the future?

From what I can see Blain is alittle more experienced with a couple of 12 rounders on his record, but he doesn't appear to have a big punch which makes him perfect from Khan (and Warren).

I would imagine this could be a nice little fight for maybe the European title if Blain can manage to win that.

Interesting you mention this because I was thinking about it the other day. You're right Blain doesn't have much of a punch at all but in the AMs he showed very good boxing skills.

However I thought he looked crap last time out against a pretty limited Mosquera his footwork was all over the place and I actually felt he lost the fight. But I see he stopped his last opponent who's record looks OK so maybe he was having a bad night or whatever, him and Kahn could be quite evenly matched in the future.

Apparently Blain was down in that last fight as well. Plenty of doubts over Khan's chin, but could Blain be a bit vulnerable as well?

Why is there plenty of doubt over khans chin. He hasn't been hurt in the pros. Just because we all seen him go down once as an amateur , that does not mean to say we should question his chin. Just look at the company he has shared a ring with in the amateurs, that alone should be reassuring.

Not sure Khan is quite ready for Blain who is very fast. Bit of a shame Blain doesn't seem to be the most durable or the biggest puncher- such a sweet boxer.

Blain's lack of a dig could mean a future prospect for Khan but he has speed and skill as Stu mentioned so probably the two will be taken seperate routes.

I posted that these two should fight after I saw Blain a while back, it would be a good fight imho.

I would be impressed if Khan fought Blain now and beat him... mighty impressed infact. At the moment, I see Blain getting through that leaky defence almost at will.

I have little doubt in a year or so time, Khan will anhilate Blain.... but I'd favour Blain currently. It would remind me of Grant vs Rhodes.

Blain's last fight was stopped when his opponent suffered a shoulder injury.

Seeing as Blain doesn't punch hard at all and has a pretty record, he is a great candidate for Khan. He fits the bill perfectly: double digit wins, but 0 power.

With the fanfare that follows around Amir's fights these days I think a fight with David Blane would be more appropriate.
