Surely ITV know that Warren isn't exactly delivering. Haye sets Maccarinelli deadline
David Haye has turned up the heat on WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli by saying they must meet in April or not at all.
Haye is ready to take on the Welshman ahead of WBA and WBC champion O'Neil Bell, but has told Maccarinelli it is a take-it-or-leave-it offer.
"April 2007 is my only timeframe for this fight. After that my schedule will only include O'Neil Bell," he said.
"If this fight isn't signed by 7 January 2007 it will never happen."
Welshman Maccarinelli inherited the title when champion Johnny Nelson was forced to retire ahead of their title bout because of injury problems.
Maccarinelli, a former WBU champion, has defended his WBO title once, against Mark Hobson.
Any clash with Londoner Haye would be a huge crowd-puller but promoter allegedly has dismissed Haye's previous offers as "outrageous", saying Maccarinelli deserves a bigger proportion of the suggested purse.
Haye's promoter Frank Maloney and manager Adam Booth hope the clash can go ahead.
"allegedly knows that David is free for one fight, to box on his show in Cardiff in April, if that is what it takes to get this fight on," said Maloney.
Booth added: "The idea is for myself, David and Frank Maloney to meet up with Enzo Maccarinelli and allegedly at an arranged location and thrash out the negotiations for this fight as soon as possible.
"We want to make sure that everyone is immediately aware of what transpires from the negotiating table and, if the fight doesn't happen, exactly who is ducking who.
"The only reason for this meet-up not to happen is if allegedly and Enzo Maccarinelli decline our invitation."

How many tickets could either man sell on the night? Remember there's no opportunity for a PPV if it's on ITV, so where does all this money come from? I don't know whether ITV negotiate a fee on a fight by fight basis, or whether they have a contract which guarantees a certain amount per fight, or how it works.
I think this is a fight which could be hyped up, but it would take some work, as Haye and Enzo are not exactly Benn and Eubank in terms of their drawing power.
When Haye and Thompson fought at Wembley conference centre, the turnout was pretty dismal, I'd say the fight would have to be in Cardiff, but I'm unsure about how many Enzo could guarantee. If it were on the undercard of a Calzaghe fight then we could be talking, but I don't think there's as much money to be slung around otherwise as some on here are making out.
I think it's a massive fight, in terms of the amount of viewers it will draw to ITV if its built up in the way it should be. Without knowing the precise figures involved, it's hard to make proper calculations, but I think the fact that BOTH men will want a nice payday, makes the fight harder to make, bearing in mind the promoter wants a payday too.
It COULD draw viewers to ITV, but ITV are going to base their revenues on projected advertising revenue, and as they don't know viewing figures until afterward, will probably base them on what other fights in recent times have done in terms of viewing figures.
