What the hell are you talking about? Ali never went to prison...never...he was out on appeal for 4 years for draft evasion...and then it was justly overturned by the Supreme Court...proving it was wrong in the first place...you ever study up on that case??? Took more guts to do that than it took to face Frazier/Foreman/Liston together...prison my ass...

I never said that Marciano or Dempsey could have kayoed Ali. All I said was that inside a 16x16 ring, where Marciano fought the majority of his opponents in, that Ali would have had a helluva time fighting Rocky. Prime or Not.

This would have been a heavily contested fight either way. Yes, in my opinion, depending on what period(s) of time Ali's career was at, I believe Marciao could have beaten him. But prime vs prime, it would have been arguably the greatest fight of all time- skills vs wills, toughness and ferocity vs. toughness and galantry, speed vs. power.

Call me crazy, but even though Foreman was the hardest hitting man Ali ever faced, George fought from far away, he didn't particuarly use the 'twist' and swivel of the hips that generate far greater power---he was a slugger but he would have been a greater puncher had he been a swarmer.

Take into consideration that Marciano had the power of the energy of an armor piercing shell, combined with his swarming style as well as his great heart and determination, and not to mention his his shorter arms, which would have actually benefited him, as shorter hooks equal greater velocity, and since he would punch up often that is greater power, so you are looking at a man just as deadly in power as Foreman---and unlike the prime George, he could punch non-stop from the 1st bell to the last.

Ali was acceptable to a left hook, as well as acceptable to being hit whenever he threw an uppercut, as well as his weakness of being a terrible infighter---I know Rocky is often credited for his right hand, but the Rock was just as deadly with the left.

Now, Ali in a 24x24 ring or 21x21, that's a different story. Its quite possible the success Frazier had with Ali is because he was more 'active' in the ring or aggressive than Marciano, but then again, Marciano was deceptively far more defensive than Joe and was a hard target to hit.

Its all about the circumstances, at least in my mind.

..."the power and energy of an armor piercing shell"..."just as deadly in power as Foreman"..."punch non-stop"...

...next thing you'll be telling us is that he is more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and faster than a speeding bullet...maybe he can walk on water too...and bring peace and justice to the world...

...one thing he couldn't do...is beat a prime Ali...or Holmes...or Louis...and the kryptonite list goes on...
