Archie Moore v Tommy Loughran.

Post by Irishlad69 »

A slightly obscure, yet very interesting matchup. Loughran is undoubtedly clever enough to post a decision win against moore at some stage if they were to fight in a series, but in a straight matchup archie would be extremely crafty and had a knack of keeping a technically superior boxer moving, while effectively weaving inside to land his draining, well placed combinations. Tommy's static upperbody, coupled with his tendency to leave his left low [his only technical weakness] could prove a problem for him, considering moores best punch was the overhand right. In loughran's favour was his speed, jab, and ability to backpeddle for an entire fifteen round duration. What do you guys think?

I would bet the farm on Moore. For the clearly stated reasons the IrishLad alluded to. I would then use my rather lofty profits to purchase a brand spanking new computer for BoxRec.
