A bulletin was sent from David Haye's myspace today with the following'

'Yo fight fans,
I’ve just been given some great news by my manager Adam Booth.

And that news is……terms have been just agreed for me to fight Enzo Maccarinelli Live on ITV- April 7th.

Let’s get ready to rumble!!!!'

It doesn't appear to be on any boxing news websites at the moment.

Really hope this is legit - fantastic fight, undercard of JC I suppose? No doubt HBO will screen it as it's bound to be a TNT KO one way or the other.

No point booking any advertising space after the first round I think

I hope it's on. This kind of fight - if they would happen regularly - would give fighters a much needed boost in profile.

I want Haye to knock him out, just so I don't have to hear how "Enzo is the genuine world champion & should get the lion's share blah blah" from Warren.

Hope this fight does happen, and don't write Macca off to soon, he has genuine power in his fists, and Haye is open to right hands.
In his last fight Haye admitted to being stunned a couple of times by a relative non-puncher. Of course Haye has great power himself, so can pull a win out of the bag anywhen in a fight.

Its one of those fights where i don't mind who wins, and i want the winner to get a shot at Bell.

Credit to all involved if this fight is a go. And by today's ultra cautious standards, it's a brave move by both camps to take a very risky fight.

Even more so by SN I'd say, not a fight they'd be too eager to take you'd think: Haye will be seen as favorite by most, rightly or wrongly, and Enzo has the alternative option of building on his WBO "title" and making cash for all in a series of safe defences.

But it looks like pride & bragging rights have forced their hand. He'd look 2nd rate if he passed up Haye's very loud challenge.

And of course Enzo could win this too, one well placed left hand bomb and he's king of the world - WBO version anyway.

I hope it's legit and not a load of shite! April 7th, plenty of time for training and for both fighters to get into required condition. I expect Haye to win and I'll be hoping he does, BIG TIME!

He seems to be one of the few fighters around today who genuinely wants challenges, no matter the risk. David is good for Boxing. Imagine if there was more boxers' like him.

If it does take place, and Haye does indeed win, I wonder if allegedly allegedly will "pack the game in"!

Sorry to be in the minority, but gutted and dissapointed if this news is true. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see this fight - but I want it AFTER Haye has fought Bell.

Haye isn't going to be a cruiser much longer, so its a pity that he is fighting vs an unproven WBO champion as opposed to the unified champ and then move up.

Aslong as he (or Enzo) fight O Neil Bell before a move up then I would be delighted and delighted that the winner also proved himself the best in Britain.

There is a strong chance that if Haye goes for the WBO route and wins, then thats the end of his ranking with the other major bodies.

Don't do it guys, not QUITE yet.

Unbeleivable, considering the top class domestic clashes we've missed out on over the years. Respect to both fighters and both promoters if this fight happens, these are the type of fights and this is the type of matchmaking that British boxing needs if it is going to reach the glory days again IMO. I don't think we should be criticising the timing, better now than never IMO

Boxing doesn't get much better than Haye-Enzo (for me anyway) especially as the winner 'should' go on to fight Bell

I'm really looking forward to this one...Haye V Bell has been stuttering and stalling for ages now with nothing concrete to show it will ever happen. Bell was on the BBC site saying he was entertaining the thought of fighting Macarinelli next anyway.

I can see where Stu is coming from, but the thought of Haye-Enzo in early 2007 is just to good to pass up. I think Mormeck will beat Bell in the rematch, March 17th?

Chances are that if Haye does go on to challenge for Mormeck/Bell's belts, he will get beat which will put a big damp spot on a possible Haye-Enzo matchup.

Add to that, Haye may move up to Heavy..

Fingers crossed for this one.

bollocks to the world scene..we can pause that for a few months.

haye needs to prove himself best in britain before calling himself 'world' champion, enzo needs to do the same.

full credit to team haye if this fight is true, they have made the offer and FW was in an 'egg on face' position in respect that he HAD to accept the challenge to save face.

this is a fantastic match up for the sake of british boxing.

I don't want to think of the fights I've missed out on over the years because of the reason 'it would be better if they met further down the line'.

Too often that plan falls flat on his face.

I'm still annoyed that the Robert Dickie/Floyd Havard fight didn't happen.

Don't agree with Lamphey there, how many great fights have we missed out on because of waiting too long for them. Just look at the light-middles a few years ago with williams/aleaxander/roberts etc.......

I think Hey said he didn't even want Mac's title to be contested he was just doing it for pride (imagen that) I think he also knows with winning both fights he can use the fact he "cleand up" the Cruzerweight devision without having to fight Mormack making him a more marketable HW.

Eh? You say you don't agree with me but then make the same point I did.

What I'm saying is, strike while the iron is hot, don't hang on. A defeat or injury can easily derail long-term plans.

Fights we didn't see like the light-middles you mention, Barrett-Ekubia, Dickie-Havard, etc, etc.
