New book: The Sundowners
just got my copy of Kevin's new book yesterday (The Sundowners: The History of the Black Prizefighter 1870-1930 Volume II Part One). Although I've only had time to read a little bit of it so far, picking the sections on big George Godfrey, Battling Gahee, George "Kid" Cotton, and Jeff Clarke for example, I found those sections extremely informative and interesting to read, especially the one about Godfrey. Great stuff, I highly recommend this book!
