percy lewis - fairground fighter?

Post by harrygreb »

back in my boyhood i used to go to the local fair once a year. in those days it had a boxing booth and me and my dad went in to have a look.
in the ring was a slightish caribbean guy who moved well, had nice balance and easily beat every tough nut local idiot who wanted to take him on. i think my dad said this guy was percy lewis, does anyone know if percy used to fight in the booths after he retired?

percy lewis being a rather obscure member of our fraternity i fear this thread will yield little response.
