Macca would beat Haye in Up and Down Thriller !!!
I reckon Macca punches harder and much more of a natural banger that Haye.
This fight has to happen and is the best domestic showdown for some time
People say Macca hasn't fought anyone but neither has Haye.
It would be a classic 6 rounds with both hitting the floor ending in Haye getting banged out.

The fight is off.
Really - Sport Networks want options!
I think Macca wins too. While the Haye apologists like to pour scorn on Maccarinelli's record he has at least gutted out wins in tough fights. Haye hasn't. And lets not forget all the weight he is cutting to make 200, on top of his dodgy whiskers I think it spells defeat for Haye. I just hope it happens!
Macca is a dangerous fighter and he'll look a fair bit bigger than Haye, who fights out of that Bob Foster crouch. I think there's a good chance that Haye catches him with his chin up in the air, as with Gurov.
I do think that Haye has gutted out a win - he had 2 tough rds vs Johanssen, and pulled himself together; and broke down Fragomeni even though he was tired...However, Fragomeni's a non puncher.
I always felt that Haye really didn't want to fight Hobson, and cannot fathom why.
But I have no doubt he's an improved fighter and wants to find out if he's ready for Macca and Bell.

Macca has improved a lot and has shown heart in some hard fights to come back and win, he definately has a chance to out gut Haye imo... this fight really could go either way, Haye is the better all round boxer while Macca seems to have better stamina, power and I must say heart, Haye would be very dangerous early but after about 4 or 5 rounds I think Macca would come on and wear Haye down for a late stoppage or ko!... cant belive this wont come off, Warren is a arse if he doesnt allow the fight to go ahead as he is depriving Enzo of the chance of a huge win which he is totally capable to pulling off imo...

Macca may have 'gutted' out wins, nut it's against opponents I would tip Haye to completely blast away.
I don't think that gives Macca an advantage at all.
In fact,it exposes him more than anything.
Both have dodgy chins,Haye is the better fighter.Haye wins.
Shame we will never find out though will we :(
I have no doubt in 4-5 years there won't be a soul on this board that claims Enzo is/was the better fighter though.
Haye will achieve a lot more than Enzo ever will IMO.

I dont think its as clear cut as that, Haye still seems to have dodgey stamina and I wasnt convinced by his recent performances... Macca punches harder than anyone Haye has ever faced and with his power would always be in with a chance against a guy with a weak chin and questionable stamina... Enzos chin isnt great but he has good stamina and that could well be the deciding factor if they ever fight...yiddo14 wrote:Macca may have 'gutted' out wins, nut it's against opponents I would tip Haye to completely blast away.

Haye has quite a smooth, patient boxng style and obviously likes to stun his opponents with hard shots, at his own pace. But his power is there in the late stages, and he kept his composure in a real crisis...vs Fragomeni, he looked like William Petersen at the end of TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA, when he gets a shotgun blast to the face, but he rode the rough spot and won.
He has more moves than Macca. & I pick Haye to win. However, I do worry that he gives away his reach advantage somewhat, the way he fights small at times.

And who exactly has Haye beaten? Gurov granted is impressive but thats about it. Fragomeni was pretty average and he still pushed Haye hard. Maccarinelli is a way tougher proposition for Haye. They're pretty even record wise in my opinion.yiddo14 wrote:Macca may have 'gutted' out wins, nut it's against opponents I would tip Haye to completely blast away.

He wasn't slipping and moving when Fragomeni bust him open. In fact, he let himself get backed up, took a left-right, and then stood there and let Fragomeni deliver the exact same combination to open the cut.Max Molyneux wrote:Haye slips, uses head movement and keeps a tight guard too and is a banger to.
I think Haye's hands-down posing has lead some to believe that he's slicker than he actually is. Which is not to say that he's no good, because he's clearly talented. But he's getting backed-up by non-punchers, and he doesn't always look comfortable under pressure. Maccarinelli may have his faults, but he can flat-out punch. So if Haye's getting flustered when the likes of Fragomeni and Johannson take the fight to him, then you simply have to give Enzo a chance.
Well if someone like Frag can give Haye so much trouble then I dont see why Enzo can't beat him... if Haye doesnt win early he would be in trouble against Enzo... and with Enzos power and Hayes chin its possible that Enzo could win early as well if he catches Haye.....viciousmaussa wrote:Haye has quite a smooth, patient boxng style and obviously likes to stun his opponents with hard shots, at his own pace. I'd pick Macarinelli to win this although it seems like it would be a who lands first wins type of contest. Haye answered a few questions about his stamina and heart in the Fragomeni fight but there were parts of that fight were Haye was very uncomfortable with the pressure on him and was just taking too any shots.
I think Haye would start a little slowly which would hand the initiative to Enzo and allow him to land his shots first for an early KO.
It's just a shame Warren doesn't share my confidence in Enzo.

I think Haye is the more obvious choice as winner, that said something niggles in the back of my mind which says Enzo would win. However, mr boxing addict, it doesn't matter does it? Because allegedly and 'the let's never allow a competitive fight to ever happen again corporation' alias sports network have scuppered the best domestic matchup in years! Well done.
Yeah, I wonder what Enzo makes of Warrens lack of confidence in him??.... he should get another promoter imo otherwise he'll just enmd up in the WBU wilderness and he has the talent to be better than that I think.... Warren is holding back his fighters to a deplorable degree!...Les Kendal wrote:I'd pick Macarinelli to win this although it seems like it would be a who lands first wins type of contest. this is why we never got to see a Arthur vs Gomez rematch, and why most of the proposed 154 red hot domestic matches that could have happened a few years ago never took place and why many of those fighters have since fallen by the wayside anyway and have already been long forgotten.... look what he's done with Wayne Alexanders 'career'.... :x :x :x :x
Yeah but it doesn't quite work that way, does it? Frago was a compact, busy fighter with a tight guard who keeps on coming. Enzo hits way harder, throws better quality shots, but is easier to hit and not as busy as Frago. Probably hasn't got as good a chin either.silkov wrote:Well if someone like Frag can give Haye so much trouble then I dont see why Enzo can't beat him... if Haye doesnt win early he would be in trouble against Enzo... and with Enzos power and Hayes chin its possible that Enzo could win early as well if he catches Haye.....viciousmaussa wrote:Haye has quite a smooth, patient boxng style and obviously likes to stun his opponents with hard shots, at his own pace. But Enzo wouldnt need to be so busy, he's only need to hit Haye right once and that could be it... and from what I've seen Haye has got poor recupertive powers... also Enzo is not exactly a lazy fighter, he usually fights at a good pace, unlike Haye who it seems can only go 12 rounds when he's throwing 3 punches a round...viciousmaussa wrote:Yeah but it doesn't quite work that way, does it? For me the big difference between these two is that Enzo seems to be improving with every fight while Haye imo has been unimpressive in his recent bouts.... if he doesnt get you out in the first 2 or 3 rounds then he starts to struggle and look vulnerble....
