PLease, that 7 pounds of muscle was gone in August. He just has to boil down as normal.nickd wrote:Not just that, his face looks terribly gaunt. Could be the weightmaking don't forget that 7lbs of muscle he gained has had to be removed along with all the excess weight etc. He could be drained.
Will Hatton beat Urango?

Did he gain 7lbs of muscle or did he just not drain as much as usual? He usually puts on anywhere between 147-155lbs at 140 on the day so if he came in at 155 at 147 he won't have gaiuned much muscle for the fightnickd wrote:Not just that, his face looks terribly gaunt. I doubt it was strictly 7 pounds of Muscle. It's hard to do that while training the way he does to cut the weight. I would say it was probably a 50/50 split muscle/water weight.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Ricky stated that he put on extra muscle mass for the fight. He certainly looked more muscular on the night than usual.
Hopefully he rehydrates nicely.
Is it all poised for a Urango upset? JU looks in great shape, and if his ability to chase down runners is questionable, will he be a monster in the trenches vs a depleted Hatton?
The Colombian seems to have the fitness, he has the title, the unbeaten ledger - he might be a difficult man to budge & ahard bloke to discourage.

He didn't beat Ben Rabah, that should explain his talent level.viciousmaussa wrote:Hopefully he rehydrates nicely.

but Rabah is a talented runner who'd make anyone look bad. Different style matchup here - more of a head on collision - and a lot of fighters can raise their game (i.e. Peter)Mattyp151 wrote:He didn't beat Ben Rabah, that should explain his talent level.viciousmaussa wrote:Hopefully he rehydrates nicely.

You're missing the point. Ben Rabah is a B level fighter on his best of best nights, and Urango CLEARLY did not beat him. I don't understand the worrying over this fight...if you can, get your hands on the ESPN telecast...Urango is not good.viciousmaussa wrote:but Rabah is a talented runner who'd make anyone look bad. Urango couldn't catch a feather fisted runner. That doesn't mean he cannot catch Hatton. Yes, Hatton should have too much, but just because he couldn't touch a marathon runner doesn't mean he can't make an impact on aggressive fighters. I've got Urango-Rabah, a very poor fight, but nonetheless it doesn't tell us what Urango can do vs other styles.Mattyp151 wrote:You're missing the point. I've not seen any other Urango fights, so I can't comment too far, but Torres was meant to be a nothing fight and yet he almost stopped Cotto. Torres struggled after the Cotto fight, but the Colombian puncher still made a impact on a future superstar.
Ultimately, we'll have to see. Holding a title and having a clean record (apart from the draw) might bring something out of him that ppl might not know exists.
Maybe I just want to see a good fight for my £15 PPV - and admittedly I gave Calzaghe fodder Bika far too much benefit of the doubt in the build up to that fight -
I cannot find the exact article - but there are some quotes in this one about him being "Under" target weight schedule.Max Molyneux wrote:Where has Kaye's spoken out about Hatton possibly overdoing it?

Sorry about not finding the other one - I have looked around and not sure where I found it.
