US Olympic Selection Procedures

Here's the latest from USOC: "The first version of the procedures over a year ago, included Pan Ams as an Olympic qualifier. (Former ED and Events Director), kept checking, although. I am not sure with whom, through each procedure change and were informed that Pan Ams would not be a qualifier.

I have the Beijing qualifying manual and there is no mention of the Pan American Games as a qualifier – only that there would be 2 Continental Qualifiers for athletes who did not qualify at Worlds, thus, leaving us with the impression that the Continental Qualifiers would have to take place after Worlds. Unfortunately, AIBA’s requirements for both the Pan Ams and the Olympics have been a moving target for over a year.

I have copied both USAB Events & Media Director)on this email as well I have just spoken with them. They will also be contacting AIBA to nail this down."
