Another example of odd ring behaviour was the Roger Mayweather v Mitchell Julien fight. During the introductions, Julien planted one right on Mayweather's jaw. BUT, it wasen't a punch, it was a kiss ! 3 rounds later Mayweather stopped Julien, AND then returned the kiss.

:D :D :D

There was an Oz fighter in the late 70's Charkey Ramon, who was a pretty good fighter. He was unbeaten in 30 off fights and had a pretty bright future. He'd won the (then highly regarded) Commonwealth 154 title, was unbeaten and was expected to go on to world level. Then he suddenly retired and seemed to disappear from sight

10 years later he turned up as a ref in a local fight and after a now forgotten incident with the fighters, the respective corners jumped into the ring and started fighting. One of them grabbed Charkey and threw a punch at him. The punch missed so the ref gave him a beautiful bodyshot in return. That was the end of that guy for the night :D

Mike Tyson-James Buster Douglas (The night the legend died.)

Jameel McCline-Michael Grant (The famous broken ankle fight)

Lennox Lewis-Oliver McCall II (One of the strangest moment's in boxing)

Joe Louis-Max Schmeling (The odds were 10-to-1 Louis would win, 4-to-1 he would win by kayo, and 2-to-1 Schmeling wouldn't be on his feet in the seventh round.)

I really dont know how to answer his questions about old Emanuel.
how can you describe it . Sometimes effective though.
I like to call it "the fighting marionette." :TU:

Didn't help him any in his recent fight vs. Kid Diamond, though. :(

this was mentioned on the british scene a while back.
i`ve seen this fight.
one of the fighters was named ken salisbury or something like that and he originated from liverpool in england, not the liverpool near sydney.
one of the cornermen wearing a martial arts style headband and looking like an extra from fame (he looked greek or italian to me) entered the ring and started bouncing round throwing digs everywhere. the ref confronted him and they started to go at it, i seem to remember the ref pulled the cornermans shirt over his head and started working away to the body.
it was crazy.

yeah that was a light heavyweight fight in britain between ex british champ tony wilson and ste mccarthy.
mccarthy had wilson in real trouble in the third (he`d already put wilson on the canvas early on) and as he was teeing off wilsons mum came into the ring and hit mccarthy on the back of his head with her shoe.
after order was restored in the ring mccarthy found the back of his head was cut and refused to continue so the ref DQ`ed him and made wilson the winner!
