This is the single biggest stumbling block in boxing, the fact that promoters rarely work together on a show, or even allow a rival promoters fighters from the same country get a look in against their top fighters.
Its ironic that in the main promoters - who are meant to 'promote fights' are infact just developing their own interests and feathering their own beds at the cost of the viewing public.
Promoters act far too much like managers of fighters. The two professions should be distinct and wholly seperate but unfortunately that is far from the case.
Promoters should be promoting events, not careers.
I agree wholeheartedly with James and Terry, boxing promoters unwillingness/inability to work together is boxings biggest problem in the UK IMO.
Hatton-Witter, Calzaghe-Woods/Froch and Haye-Enzo are the highest profile casualties, but it continues down the ladder. The last time I recall a reasonably high profile fight occuring between 2 camps was Lee Meager and Danny Hunt on a SN bill, it was a cracking fight (I and the majority thought Meager won), but the home fighter got the nod. I'm sure that fight didn't encourage promoters to put their fighters in BIG fights on other promoters bills
Wasn't that the whole point of the court case back in the 90's where it was ruled you can't promote AND manage the same boxer. That really worked...not
Warren loves to take the paudits for the fights he puts on, but what about the countless fights he has had a hand in ruining.
I didn't think there was anything which stipulated you could not manage a fighter and promote him at the same time. As far as I am aware, that ruling exists only in American legislature. If it is in English law, then there is some pretty flagrant law breaking going on as it is hardly a secret that many promoters also hold a managers license.

Good shout, whenever i hear Calzaghe-Froch mentioned and people like Enzo Calzaghe come out of the woodwork claiming Froch isn't worthy, who has he beaten etc all i can say is...WHEN KABARY SALEM WAS DEEMED WORTHY HE WAS COMING OFF A LOSS TO MARIO VEIT WHO CALZAGHE HAD KO'D IN 1 ROUND!! Add in Tocker Pudwill's name and i think we have a case for Froch being more than worthy
