I finally found a picture of Jem Roche. But I'm still having one helluva time trying to find his 'lost' fights. The BoxRec record of his career is not accurate, as is most other databases. It seems to give the appearance that he was the Irish champion and made his debut against Tommy Burns for the HW title---but this cannot be so.

I have heard that he had twenty or so fights before the Burns bout, but has anyone had any success in finding out who and when and where he fought? From what most 'experts' have said he must have been something special because he was considered a top contender for years.

I have Jem Roche's fight record but I don't know if it is complete.
Anyway, according to what I have: Roche won 29 contests (21 by KO) lost 8 and drew 1.

Also, I must add that Roche in the 1910's coached the Wexford football team.

btw, i found another picture of Roche from the Tommy Burns bout.
