aite so i was looking at the records and i was wondering when they started having different kind of world title belts like wbc, wba, ibf, wbo etc cuz back in the day all they said was that he was world hw, or something like that.
also i was looking at jim braddocks record and it said in thetitle match against max baer, he obly became the national hw champ and not the world hw champ (i'm looking at this through boxrec). opk watchin cinderella man i assumed he became hw champ...anyone wanna clear that up for me?
was the nabf title belt ever considered a ajor belt back in the 70's? i ask cuz my dad told me ken norton was a hw champ back in the day (as you can tell i'm only in my mid 20's). on boxrec it said he only won the nabf title from ali while frazier was still the wbc hw champ. so was nabf considered a legit belt?
tks in advance for anyone who can help me out. i'm a youngster trying to find out a lot of history of boxing but its kinda hard when most of the things that would help (like watching old fights of past boxers) aren't available
