The old school weight drainers I believe suffer more - sweat, dehydrate and starve the weight off for days. The new school use more diuretics, fat burners and other tricks while not reducing water consumption till nearer the fight. The new school guys use lots of supplements to get the weight and strength back up while the old school gauge themselves - look at Corrales eating a peanut butter sandwich miniutes before fighting Mayweather

If you look at the weight drainers the guys who do it right get away with it - Hatton, Pacman, Harrison but guys like Cotto, Morales, Castillo, Corrales seem to suffer far more simply due to poorer nutritonal techniques.

I thought that diuretics were illegal? James Toney had terrible problems with leg cramps after over doing the diuretics against Dave Taberi.

I agree that rapid dydration very close to the fight is a bad way to go about things - not to mention dangerous.

Anyone know anything about his opponent Ngoudjo?
To be honest i've never heard of the guy, looking at his record he's beat gatekeepers in Augustus and Brown, but fighting Castillo is a hell of a step up in class.
