Becoming a amateur boxer?

Post by G* »

First off im really interested into getting into fighting and entering tournaments etc, i do boxing at a local club at the minute however the club isnt registered so its not possible yet. I was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me abit as i have a fair amount of questions, if this is the wrong place to be asking then i apologise and would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. first of all how do you get to find out where these tournaments are happening and how do you get entered in them? ive just turned 17 years old so would i qualify to enter? also i am really surprised at alot of boxers physical size and then there weight i weight 12 stone and im 6 foot on the dot just wondering if this would be a setback etc. Does anybody know of any websites i could look at to see up coming tournaments etc? im really grateful if anyone would answer. very much apreciated

Fairst of all, are you in the U.S. or the U.K.? I have no idea how much 12 stone is in pounds????

Please email me at [email protected] and I'll give you a contact who can assist you in finding competitions.

show fights

It would better for most young boxers that are in their teens to start in shows. Hopefully they will get a fairly even match

In a tournament there is a greater chance of a mismatch because of a draw to see who boxers who.

At least that is the way it is suppose to go
