Interesting. You need to update it, though. Last boxing entry was re the Ringside tournament but nothing about it and nothing after.

I think it would be really interesting to follow your quest to make the Olympic team. Maybe you could focus on that for the next 9 months. You should also include the PAL tournament. Please stay away from the "I got robbed" cliche and report on your experiences as objectively as possible. Getting robbed gets boring. :box:

Have you ever sparred with David Rodriguez? I realize he is from El Paso, which is on the other side of Texas and a long way from you. However, he is big and strong and can punch. Might be some good sparring. I saw him box a guy (pretty much a bum) in Grand Rapids this summer and Nino can hit.

David Rodriguez has boxed limited opposition, but is 23-0 with 22 KO's. He has a common opponent with Travis Walker. Nino KO'd Travis Fulton in 1 round in 2004 and Walker KO'd him in 2 rounds this year. I'm not saying that Nino is a better boxer, but I think he hits harder than Walker. They are both big heavyweights too with Nino at 6'5" and Walker at 6'4.5". See if you can get some rounds with him and let us know if you do. I hope that Nino steps up his level of competition soon.

Clarence - Bob Spagnola is managing David Rodriguez. He is also managing Eugene Hill who just turned pro. Maybe you can get some good sparring with them. Keep us posted on your adventures in trying to make the Olympic team.

I believe that is the same opponent that Michael Hunter boxed in the USA v. Cananda dual in October 2006 and Hunter stopped him in the 3rd round.
