Ricky Hatton needs to write a cheque to JuniorWitter for £15
I bought this PPV to watch Witter so Ricky Hatton should write £15 of his £1,500,000 to Junior Witter. A good value PPV without any excellent fights.

£15 to watch two very one sided fights with hand picked opponents - not money well spent IMO.
Can't believe Witter had the cheek to do all that posing at the end of his bout - you'd think he'd have just beaten someone great in a real barnstormer.
Lenny Daws - Barry Morrison was the only bout on the two cards worth watching.
These kind of fights should be included in the Sky Sports subscription!

Boxers earn their money... it's the TV companies fleecing people with PPV's AND covering everything in adds that I object to. No way was Hatton/Umbongo a PPV event.viciousmaussa wrote:Didn't you know, as faithful Brit supporters it's up to us to contribute to the cause of filling his bank with obscene amounts of money. It's our God given duty & we owe it to Ricky.
Moorison vs Daws was a good one. Ashley Theoplane looked very impressive vs Bosworth (as much as Morrison impressed me, I will tip Theoplane when they meet).
The three World class fighers all dissapointed. I watched Castillo struggle vs Ngoudo and thought "oh well, he has no snap or power at the weight, Hatton is going to paste him" - then I saw Hatton and changed my pick. Hatton looked very weak to the body (something I've noticed way back vs Jason Rowland and also vs Eamonn Magee) and Castillo loves them. Not sure who will come on top at the moment.
The Light Welterweight devision looks pretty drab if these are #1 and #2.
Witter dissapointed me arguably more so than the other two. At least Castillo had a meaningful opponent (Ngougo vs Olusugun please!!!!!) and I thought apart from looking outstrengthed and weak to the body Hatton was effective. Not sure if Witter has the strength to do trouble Hatton the same way Urango did. Of course, he does many things better than Urango - he is a level above him. But I think Hatton will be stronger than Junior.

Since he never lost - ranked 14 places higher than Morua by the WBC and beaten some decent names also. They guy has also held two stepping stone belts, the NABF title is quite well respected. The fact that their best win is vs the same opponent but Ngoudjo never lost to lesser fighters also, says that he was alot more credible. The performance showed, Ngoudjo is going to be knocking on the door against the big boys for a long time to come, Morua will be back on the Telefutura circuit winning some, losing some.Max Molyneux wrote:Since when was Herman more meaningful than Morua?
Are you trying to say Morua would have troubled Castillo?

Moura has 7 loses, Augustus is arguably his best win also. Augustus took on the world class Kid Diamond (if Witter fought him I'd be chuffed) on a days notice, but it does sound like he got a pounding. Njoudjo is at his prime and had passed every test he had been put up against.... Morua was a known quantity - everyone knew he was levels off world class. Like the previously untested Pauli Malignaggi - we now know Njoudjo is a geniune threat. If Njoudjo is back in the mix with the Brit world champions, I would pay to see it. He's damn decent.Max Molyneux wrote:Well I didn't see the Castillo fight because I fell asleep on my couch, so I didn't say Morua would trouble him. If I thought so, I'd say It.
But all mention of Herman being better Is belts and Augustus.
Isn't Augustus a journeyman and he lost to his last fight.
I recommend you watch the fight, arguably fight of the night.

Max you know I'm a big Witter fan so I'll tell you this without bias. Augustus is the best fight Moruas beat. Moruas CV is probably as good as either hatton or Castillos opponents.Max Molyneux wrote:What about Maussa? At least Maussa has achieved more to say he's a bigger win than Augustus.
So giving Castillo trouble at a weight he doesn't normally fight at says that Herman Is a big threat?
Morua is very solid and he has quality boxing skills and a tight defense - his defense was underated. But physically he isnt the same athlete as Njoudo(sp) or Urango. Witter would still beat both Urango and Njoudo comfortably on points though.
OH I ALMOST FORGOT CASTILLO GOT A GIFT
I remember that well. Hatton had to really suck in air after those rights to the body!stujones wrote:Moorison vs Daws was a good one. Ashley Theoplane looked very impressive vs Bosworth (as much as Morrison impressed me, I will tip Theoplane when they meet).
