MANDO RAMOS VS RAY MANCINI!!... WHO WINS??

Post by silkov »

What a matchup this would be!... I'm surprised that Mando isnt mentioned more on here, very good and exciting boxer he was... I see him edging Mancini in most departments and winning a very lively and exciting fight on points...
views anyone?.... anyone here seen any of Mandos fights live?...

At his very best I'd be inclined to agree with you that Ramos could outscore Mancini. I followed his rise (via write ups only, never saw him box) and he seemed like he had it all, but he went downhill quite rapidly after he hit the top....a few "lifestyle issues" as I recall.

Close fight....

I have not seen much of Mando Ramos fights, so I cannot say who would have won. The only footage of Ramos that I have seen was when he was schooled by Ismael Laguna in Los Angeles, CA in 1970. Laguna made him bleed badly and they had to stop the fight. Ramos was a bleeder in the first fight with Carlos "Teo" Cruz.

Mancini was also a bleeder. I got to see more tapes of Mando Ramos. Anyone here has his fights on tape???

I have him vs Crawford 2, Koyabashi, Laguna and Sugar Ramos... he seemed to have better boxing skills than Mancini, more speed, its amazing that he acheived what he did when you take account of his lifestyle... I think he was a drugaddict and alcoholic by his midteens from what I've read...
