Munyai looked outstanding at late notice. Power will hope that Munyai has added NOTHING to his game since then. Which to be frank is fcking unliklely!

Munyai is ferocious!

So much punch variety, intensity, footwork, all rounded and still improving. I think he beats Maludrottu/Napa winner.

Munyai is a MENACE. Superb all round. I loved his high work rate and variety tonight. He switched between body and head fluently and at only 21 how much further can he go in the game?

All the way would be my suggestion.

Its great when we get a world quality operator on these shores and I would love to see more of him over here...

Was Ian John Lewis arguing with Powers corner when they were trying to pull their man out after the 4th?
John Lewis seemed to be saying just give it one more round, or did i miss hear him? certainly seemed to me he wanted Power to continue.

Powers Corner were doing the right thing pulling Martin out, he was just going to take more punishment, this way he can fight another day

Well, no surprises in this one then.

Power should look back and think himself a little lucky. Without the injury he'd have gone on for another couple of rounds at least, with only his heart keeping him in the fight. A potentially damaging defeat avoided really.

I was impressed with Munyai again. He looked from the opening bell like a man who knew Power had nothing to trouble him, and he went straight for the throat. He's a real prospect.

I just got back from watching it live - Munyai is the real deal. He did not seem at all fazed by Power, and I think if it had gone on, Munyai would have stopped him in another two rounds.

Munyai will hold at least one World Belt, IMO.

Woolcombe was unlucky to lose to Facey, given that there was one second left when it was stopped, but again, I thought Facey had him worked out (he definetly had his range), and every time Facey caught him clean, he looked hurt.

Magee did well in beating Andrew Lowe - it was a bit of a snorer with flashes of action. Lowe could not figure a way past Magee's Southpaw defence, excellent pawing away of the jab. Even after Magee got cut, he always looked in command.

Honorable mention to Tom Glover, looked totally outgunned and outsized in his matchup, but he was game as a badger, did good work to the body, and earned a draw. Only 4 rounds but still a good show.

IMO they were looking for an excuse to pull Power out. Munyai - better prepared this time - simply picked up where he left off, totally outginned Power.

Great to hear that Maloney plans 2 more Commonwealth defences, then fights with Americans on undercards, to groom him for world honours. You finally cottoned on, did you Frank?

As ppl are saying, great variety, workrate, accuracy from Munyai. Also some neat angles, and I LOVE that right hook under the left elbow. Most body punchers ignore the right hook. Remind anyone of a certain 'Body Snatcher'?

During the ringwalks, who would've believed that Munyai was going to spank him, unless you'd seen the 1st fight? Power looked fresh, purposeful, intense. Munyhai had 2 black eyes, looked pensive, frail...Then in the ring it was just totally different!

Absolutely wicked that there are world class prospects away from Warren. Munyai is a level above Khan, and they've had roughly the same # of fights.

I hope they don't rush Munyai to much, bring him alond at the right pace, we've had a few African boxers over here that have looked the bollocks against our boys , but fell short at the higher level.
Munyai is only 21, so there is no need to rush him. I think he could build up a nice fan base over here, certainly a good boxer to watch.

I hope Munyai's every fight is over here. I also hope this encourages someone to lift Asiku and Olusegun from obscurity. It's doubtful that Maloney would rush him.

The bantam division will be relatively open. Marquez is moving up. Sahaprom is shot. Hasegawa is very very good, but he's over in Japan.

It's frightening to think how good Munyai can be if he's developed right.

Yeah Munyai is excellent, one of the best prospects I've seen for a long time, far better then Khan, I just hope that he's not rushed, I think they should spend at least the next 18 months just letting him defend the Commonwealth and then taking on some fringe contenders, he needs to polish his defence a bit and I'd like to see him use his jab more, ...if he's moved right he can go and take a 'proper' world title I'm sure.
One disapointment for me was that he was booed last night, I understand that Power was the crowd fav but it would be encouraging to see the fans appreciate having a talented boxer such as Munyai in their midst, its not like Britain is actually over flowing with them...

I agree, no need to rush Munyai. He's only 21, and as good as the wins over Power and Haskins are, they're both a long, long way from world class. Which is not to say Munyai can't be world class, because I think he definitely can. He looks miles ahead of any of our homegrown prospects, he's just so rounded. I suspect he can improve most aspects of his game in the next 18 months or so with the right opposition, and that will make him a fearful proposition indeed for anyone at the weight. Let's see him on SKY again soon please.

What pisses me off is EVERY time there is an excuse. Power 1 - 'he didn't beat me fair, he was taller than I expected'; Haskins - tall small and my fave 'he needs it moe than me'; Power 2 - 'I don't want to make excuses BUT my elbow...'

I think it's great that there is world class away from Frank 'Every fighter worth his salt has come through me' Warren. Also must be satisfying for Maloney, to have a prospect better than Khan (though Munyai will NEVER be the attraction), and a cruiser that has sort of embarrassed.

It's bad for boxing when Warren tries on his monopolies (ITV, MEN Arena, options and options on options for any non Warren fighter...), so come on Maloney, Hennessey, Hobson. Develop your fighters in an educated and COMPELLING way. And someone sign up Asiku and Olusegun who are every bit the fighter Munyai is.

I couldn't agree more with regards to Asiku and Olusegun. I'd love a British promoter to get behind them and give them a real push. Asiku has the early losses, sure. But he's come over here and flat-out demolished two decent, if only at domestic level, fighters, just as Munyai has done. As for Olusegen, I'd love to see what Witter makes of him.

I know it's a harder sell to the public than homegrown fighters, so I don't expect to see those three headlining. But I'd be more than happy to see them make Britain a home away from home.

Too true, any talk of a third fight is just nonsense, Power should be thankful he didnt take a 6 or 7 round beating that could have shortened his career, Munyai is just a different class simple as that... I dont understand what Powers tactics were either, he was never going to outbox Munyai, standing off like he did at the start was just suicidal... very poor fight stratgedy, seems to me that they underestimated Munyai for a second time....

Has anyone seen Malodrottu-Kelly 2?

I'm damn curious about this one. I assumed Malo was no good, but he apparently spanked Kelly 2nd time after the robbery.

The bantam division is intriguing. Domestically, there's Munyai, Napa, Booth; in Europe there's Malodrottu coming off a great win; worldwide - though Rafael Marquez has moved up & the great Veeraphol's shot, Hasegawa is a more than worthy replacement (WBC champ), Jhonny Gonzalez is dangerous, Leon Moore promising, and a slew of quality ex champs Penalosa, Irene Pacheco...oh, and the OUTSTANDING super fly king Tokuyama is moving up to 118!
