Heavyweights: Razor Ruddock vs Oscar Bonavena

Post by elmersalsa »

this would be a great scrap. It should end by KO. I pick Bonavena in this one, but I am not sure. One uppercut from Razor and the fight could be over too.

This would have been a very competitive matchup. The somewhat crude Ringo would be giving up a great deal of size to the one-dimensional Ruddock, and Ruddock could hit pretty hard, but Ringo was one tough SOB. I’d go for either Ringo by close UD, or possibly a late stoppage as he counters a smash thrown from long range by a tiring Ruddock.

I guess I'm with you guys on this one. It is an intriguing matchup. Both were good but flawed fighters. It's easy to imagine any scenario happening. Bonavena was easy to hit and Ruddock could hit. However, Bonavena had a very good chin and Ruddock probably wouldn't be busy enough to stop him. I would have to lean toward Bonavena.

Ruddock was not as good as Williams . . .a big one dimensional puncher with no jab and an open defense. I like Oscar.

Ruddock the boxer? Razor easy UD
Ruddock the puncher? Too hard to say as Bonavena took an excellent punch, but id still lean towards Ruddock by a close decision.
