Interesting article, I'm looking forward to the one tomorrow on Earnie Lopez though I'm a bit worried that the writer is mixing him up with his brother Danny as he describes him as the 'champion that disapeared for 10 years' and it was Danny not Earnie who was the champion!...

and what a champion he was aswell - the least likely looking thunderous KO puncher I can ever remember seeing, with his droppy moustache, freckly torso and lean limbs..

His 2 fights with Sanchez and match with Ayala are amongst my favourites featuring the TV friendly Lopez.

Read the one about Charlie Magri yesterday, not much I didn't already know really other than the pic of him shows him to be in good nick at the age of 50.

Would love to pop into his boozer at some stage...

Was in there last night chatting to Charlie, lovely bloke he is, absolutely full of stories, and looks pretty fit for a 50 year old. Nice boozer as well, old fashioned, but does Thai food in the restaurant out the back.

There's a do down there on the 2nd of February, with Dave Boy Green, Alan Minter and a few others. Think it's open to all I'll check, might be heading down there myself.

No, I only met Charlie recently as it happens; I'm meeting up with him next week, so I can ask him if he's in touch with him if you like. PM me and let me know who you are, as it's always easier to elicit that sort of information if someone knows who is asking for them. Don't know whether Charlie will know him, but he still seems to be in touch with a lot of people from the Royal Oak Gym and former Lawless fighters.

Interestingly, I never knew that Terry Lawless never actually fought himself, at least according to Magri he never had any fights. Is this common knowledge?

Bomber's problem was that he was too nice a bloke...

He seems such a lovely, kind man.

I watched the programme where Bomber met up with Ingle after not speaking for a number of years; what I can't understand is why Herol was apologising to Ingle.

Yep, the guy is simply too nice for his own good.
