On March 27, 2004, in Mashantucket, Dawson fought to a no contest against Aundalen Sloan. The bout was on the undercard of Vinny Paz’ farewell fight against Tocker Pudwill. Dawson outworked Sloan, consistently landed the sharper punches and won a six-round unanimous decision by the score 60-54 three times. However, Dawson tested positive for marijuana in the post-fight drug test. The result was later changed to a no contest. Dawson also was suspended for 90 days and fined $1,000.

let's hope for chad's sake & the sake of the sport, that dawson has left the hippy lettuce FAR BEHIND!!
I want to congatulate Chad Dawson for a great performance! But I want him to know that Berry "Killa B" Butler is coming for his title. Berry Butler is currently ranked #18 in the WBC and after another quality win should move into the Top 15. His record is a non-threatening 22-12, but don't let that fool you. The boxing insiders know that he is a major threat to any fighter in the Light Heavyweight division. I hope Chad will give Berry a chance at his belt, when the time is right. I promise Berry Butler will give the performance of his life and be the first man to beat Chad Dawson!
