Does anyone know for sure whether Hagler - Sibson was televised live in the UK and if so what channel?

Cheers gents.

I don't think it was. I recall watching it on Saturday Grandstand or World of Sport before going to football on a Saturday afternoon. But I could well be wrong.

No, it was shown as a delayed broadcast on the BBC with commentary by Harry Carpenter.

I remember this well.

No it was not shown live on the bbc.

They showed it delayed.

Your friend might have been thinking about Tony's final eliminator with Dwight Davison, which was shown live on a Sunday afternoon.
