Bad Chad Dawson vs Calzaghe/Woods
Would love to see Dawson against either of these 2. Despite being floored by Adamek he put on a superb performance. If Hopkins is going to fight Wright maybe this would be a perfect debut in USA for Calzaghe.
I would lean towards Calzaghe to stop dawson late on but think it would be a good fight.
Woods vs Dawson in a unification would be good but think Dawson would out-point him.

Dawson has a way better line up of challengers than Jones did. If he can reign long, there won't be much to complain about.
Most important for Dawson is Erdei, because he's lineal champion.
Calzaghe, from the press releases I've seen, wants to keep his 168 title and surpass Hopkins' 20 defenses (different division, I know).

have you ever seen the dvdtimes.co.uk forums? They have spoiler tags, in case someone reveals the end of a film. Maybe it'd be good to have spoiler tags over here.Terence wrote:I guess avoiding the result then coming on a boxing forum (even a UK-based one) was not the best idea I've ever had![]()
So Dawson won did he? I have the fight so will check it out tonight, suspense free or not!
Seems like a few clips here:

First impressions, Adamek looks very slow and ponderous and particularly wary of Dawson's superior speed. But it's hard to gauge a clear picture from clips.

Dawsons hand speed was really good but Adamek was extremley poor and looked scared to throw punches for 7 rounds. the first 6 rounds reminded me of mayweather - gatti. not as one sided but Dawson seemed to have control of Adameks mind. dawson is a good fighter but i think Calzaghes pressure would be too much for him but it would make for a very interesting fight.

I'll bet you the fight never happens. Take that bet and you'll be downing a whole Raven.Max Molyneux wrote:If Boxrec members make the mistake of not listening to me again when I say Joe will win, then you'll be eating crow.Axe wrote:
Chad outboxes Calzaghe now by comfortable UD, Joe has wasted his best years.
Imo.
If it does though, Chad whoops him.
He cannot beat? Within his weightclass, no.viciousmaussa wrote:Axe, I know Dawson is an outstanding fighter, but is there any man alive he cannot beat? LOLAxe wrote:Dawson stops Woods late, after winning every single round.

He would not beat? Many guys have a shot at beating him. Some due to their power, others such as Calzaghe due to their speed and intensity.
Dawson is young and still a question mark, we have to see him in with other styles of opponent before we ultimately declare him the best. But he's already dealt with several stylistic challenges, such as fellow southpaws, cagey veterans like Harding, boxer-punchers like Adamek, and a completely awkward guy in Ian Gardner.
I'd like to see him in with a swarmer or a pressure fighter next, someone like Glen Johnson ought to answer further questions.
most fans away from boxrec dont pay any attention to lineal titles & ersatz erdei has only undermined his own cred because of 2nd-rate WBO pseudo-challengers like santiago & murdoch!! if anyone can push chad to a new level (both fistically & credibility-wise) now it is b-hop!!viciousmaussa wrote:Dawson has a way better line up of challengers than Jones did. How is Erdei lineal champ, He hasn't fought anyone and looked crap against Murdoch who is little more than a club fighter. Green stopped Murdoch in 2 rounds and dropped him with a left jabviciousmaussa wrote:Dawson has a way better line up of challengers than Jones did. Ademek has beaten better opposition at 175 and just got his ass kicked so surley Dawson is the lineal champ at 175.
Lineal doesn't always translate to "best"...in fact nowadays the #1 in any division is hardly ever lineal.Ben Keilty wrote:How is Erdei lineal champ, He hasn't fought anyone and looked crap against Murdoch who is little more than a club fighter. I too would take both Adamek and Dawson over Erdei.
