Bernard Dunne Gets Jailauov

In all the papers today or a link for an article here:

Dunne gets former Michael Hunter victim Yersin Jailauov which is a pretty poor match but according to Dunne's handlers a lot of fighters including Hunter himself turned Dunne down. Whether this is true or not i don't know.

One quote from the camp says:

"This guy is a tough fighter and although he lost in two rounds to Michael Hunter it was a very controversial, premature stoppage."

Hmm hardly crime of the year though, it was only a matter of time before Hunter stopped him anyway.

I think it's a weak fight but a good chance to get a run out in front of a packed house. If i had the money i would be down there myself.

I live in East wall, near the point and im gonna watch this on rte cos im not paying 60 to see a massacre. I know this is a stay busy fight so its gt the beers in and shout at the telly time and sure i can stick my head out teh front door and hear the crowd anyway.

200 for ringside, 60 is the cheapest....they'll probably fill the point, why would they have him face anyone decent? Peters is following Allegedly's playbook...

There is no doubt they will fill the point, lets give peters a chance rather than being negative its not like pickering was an average fighter esham was thought of in world terms not so long ago and at least dunne is staying busy.

Michael Hunter has NEVER been offered a Ben Dunne bout. Spoke to Michael this morning and he assured me if Dunne will fight him at 8st 13lbs (catchweight) he will glady go to Dublin and do the do's. Mickey simply can't do 8st 10 anymore. He has been a super-bantam since he turned pro in 2000. People need to realize that.

Knows for a fact that the fight was offered to Hunter (AT SUPER BANTAM). Why the fcuk shud Dunne have to fight at catchweight (when he is reigning european champ at SB) to facilitate a "has been" who blatantly ran from attempts by team Dunne to get a crack at hunters old title before he vacated it rather than face Dunne as a mandatory. He could make weight for a world title crack and 3 defences at 8-10 only a short few weeks ago so what gives....... go figure it out 4 urself!!!!!!

If Mickey waits a little longer mabey the world WILL revolve around him....

I really cant see a catchweight match up being entertained after Michael was humbled on the world stage (Admittedly by a super slick opertator in Moiltor) Whats in it for Dunne in terms of progressing on the world stage? Its not as if he could better Molitor's performance..

Still, Hunter has a lot of good fights left in him at his new weight - look forward to seeing him back in the ring.

I doubt Dunne's people will be rushing to sign a fight with Molitor - he looked a class above both Hunter and Dunne IMO.

Agree, I dont tink Dunne shuld hav 2 fight at catchweight in order to get a fight wit Hunter.....surely if Hunter wanted Dunne he shuld b d one to make super bantam!!!!!

I thought I heard somewhere on Boxrec dat if Hunter lost to Molitor dat he wuld get a crack at d European title dat he had given up!!!!so maybe Hunter was offered 2 Dunne and he refused!!!!! :)

Dunne could easily hang with Molitor in my mind. Whether he beats him or not is another story but I reckon it would be a very close points decision, a 115-113 or something along those lines.

Dunne has more tools than Hunter for taking on a fighter like Molitor, he has better head movement, all round boxing skills, carries more power and throws a great left hook to the body to help close the distance over the fight. He can also fight both short and long range and can alternate between the 2 at the drop of a hat. Not to mention that he also has an amateur win over Molitor.

I reckon if Dunne could get that fight in Dublin and a big venue, he would take it home. If he fighs Molitor in Canada or somewhere though, I could see him narrowly slipping up.

Hmm. I'm clearly no authority on this, but Dunne is a fine fighter being talked up well by some. But Molitor, to me, looks Excellent at a level above Dunne already.

Of course, opposition has to be considered. But Molitor looks a class act. Anyone fancy seeing Munyai-Molitor?
