Michael Nunn vs Bernard Hopkins 160lbs

I know that he lost to James Toney for the beginning of his end,but prior to that Nunn was one of the most naturally skilled fighters around.He soundly beat the tar out of a very well schooled Frank Tate,k.o.ed slick boxing Sumbu Kalamby,and Strongman Roldan,and soundly beat Barkley,Curry and Starling(I know Curry & Starling were originally welterweights).But he had excellent skills ,good speed and good power.But I think his best attributes,were his boxing ability,and angles.along with his height and reach.He was a nightmare for many a good fighter,and if you saw the Tate fight,he "toyed" with him,before stopping him.Tate had soundly beat Olajide over 15 rds,and while Olajide may not have been a destroyer,he was a good tough fighter.Originally when I thought about this,I thought Nunn would have a better chance.Then I thought about Hopkins vs Tarver,and Hopkins completely controlled a guy whose physical size,and southpaw stance,were one of the strengths FOR Nunn.While I still think Nunn is a better boxer ,and much more fluid and quicker than Tarver,I think Hopkins tenacity would drive him to "up" his game.I guess I would pick Hopkins over the guy who I started out thinking would be a real good fight.Hopkins UD.

I'd tip Hopkins to win, but the fight would be very dull to watch.

I can't see Nunn scoring a KO as he was a soft puncher (most of the time :P ); his only hope would be a points win, which he would be capable of, but I think that Hopkins would be too cute for him.

I think Nunn's slick defense and quickness and southpaw style would have out done Hopkins at that stage. Nunn W-12

I think any middle would find Nunn a tough tough guy to outbox. Nunn had super skills, height, reach and speed as well as very good footwork and decent power. It took Toney's all out aggression and KO shot to dethrone him. So if it goes the distance I see Nunn winning a decision.
Bernard was smaller and had not got a big enough single shot to take Nunn out. He would have to pressure pressure Nuinn all the time to secure a TKO. He could do it, but I think Nunn eeks out a close deserved decision

This is what I envisioned as I started this topic,but then started fading as I thought about the bore it could turn into.Nunn was a good one(or could have been).
