Witter - 140lbs Undisputed Champ?

I would never have allowed this thought to enter my mind 1 year ago........... but it is far from inconcevable now.

Current 140lbs champions:

Witter - WBC
Ndou - IBF (should be announced very soon, we think)
Mbaye - WBA

Assuming Ndou is made champion........ he has already called out Witter for a unification fight. Witter should bite his hand off, take his title, then look to set up a unification with the winner of Mbaye/Kotelnik with the winner being announced undisputed champ. Witter could conceavably become the undisputed champ by beating two fighters he has already beaten! Crazy!

But, would Warren get in the way of that final unification? I'm not sure. Aassuming it all happens, Witter could be undisputed champ by the end of the summer! Would Hatton have the gaul to refuse the fight then, i doubt it!

Also, If Kotelnik does beat Mbaye in March, and Witter having already beaten both Ndou & Kotelnik, he has a solid claim to being the ruler of the division (especially seeing as Hatton refuses to fight him).

I don't want to take a Witter/Hatton side in this, but if we're talking "who has Hatton beaten" then the same could be said of Witter.

If we look at the last 4 fights (beginning after the zoo fight, which is where the "undisputed at 140" argument is coming from) then Hatton has

Zoo, Maussa, Collazo, Urango. Now, his last 3 fights have not set the heather alight, but then again one was a unification, one at a higher weight, and one to reclaim the IBF title.

Witter's last 4 have been against Kotelnik, Lynes, Corley and Morua. Against Kotelnik and Lynes he did not look particularly good. Kotelnik could arguably operate at world class, but Lynes...I can't see an excuse for that to be honest. And the Corley and Morua match-ups are not exactly thrilling - Corley was 3-3 from his last 6, having already been beaten by PBF, Cotto and Judah, with only victories against journeymen amongst these. And the Morua is not exactly operating at world class. He lost clearly to Ben Rabah, who lost (closely) to Urango, who...

So I don't want to be labelled a Hatton nut hugger here. I don't for one minute like the fact that he's ducking Witter - and if he's not ducking him, then he's certainly making it look like it is. However, if we're basing who's the best at 140 right now, then on recent opposition and performance I really can't see how Witter could be picked over Hatton
