Guess The Fighter
Guess The Fighter
He's got a better record against Hall of Famers than Jake LaMotta and Mickey Walker combined, AND he still isn't in the Hall of Fame. Obviously he's not a heavyweight or there'd be a post a day about him.

Damn! I was gonna say Bert Gilroy.
Bert is the greatest fighter never to have won a world title. Check out his record. Ignore the losses, we have an excuse for every one of them plus 1500 reports all saying the same thing which is this......... BERT GILROY WAS THE GREATEST FIGHTER NEVER TO WIN A WORLD TITLE.
What? You've never heard of Bert? Damn you, sir!

To put that in some perspective, Jake LaMotta went 5-6-0, Mickey Walker 5-7-1, Johnny Dundee 3-10-6, Fritizie Zivic 6-13-1, Floyd Patterson 3-6-0, etc. I'm not suggesting that records against HOF'ers be the sole criteria for induction, but it should be of some significance, certainly above winning the HW title and losing it in your first or second defense. Newsboy Brown 6-2-2 and Willie Joyce 8-6-1 are a couple more guys who have really been ignored by the HOF.
