Nicky Cook to get WBO shot after all?

Post by jomothepure »

Passed me by until now, but apparently Marquez is moving up to SF to fight Barrera in March.

The fight itself aside, this would also mean that the WBO featherweight title will presumably free itseld up once again.

Unfortunately from a UK point of view, and particularly for Nicky Cook, who was affectively robbed of his high WBC ranking for taking the Harrison fight, as he is only #6.
#1 is Steven Luevano
#2 is Marcos Ramirez

Can Frank pull one out of the bag and engineer Cook a title shot?
Credit to Uncle Frank - he's pulled it out of the bag. Cook is up to #2 in this months' WBO rankings. :D It's hilarious stuff. Luevano is still #1.

I know you'll think I'm a miserable sod but I still don't find stuff like this funny.

I can't stand it.

Wish we could wipe out all the boards and just start again...dream land.

It's either laugh or cry Ian, and I choose to laugh, as the WBO is one of the greatest jokes of all time.

How they could (legitimately) justify the ranking movement I just do not know.

Then we add in the fact Lockett is #5, Jennings #2, Tony Doherty #8! (1 ahead of Judah ffs) Earl #1 Limmond #10 Mitchell #5.

Wait a m-m-m-moment. SHOCK! These guys are all SN fighters. Wow. A mammoth-sized fornicating coincidence that don't you think?

Cook definitely deserves a bit of good fortune good luck to him I say. All politics but who can begrudge Cook his shot after the way he was fucked about by that scabdog Harrison.

Yep I am delighted for Cookie after the way he was fvcked about. It's a disgace though that it looks like he is getting his shot in the way he has. But that's modern boxing for you.
