Closing for business soon.

A crying shame.

I'll be looking for a new home for my inane ramblings.

In the meantime, it was a pleasure to be alongside some pretty hefty writers on that roster, Putnam, Kimble, Katz, Ken Jones, Rendall...

Au Revoir to a rare spot of integrity and quality amongst the PR driven guff masquerading as boxing writing elsewhere.

Never mind the pay-cheques, I'll miss reading the site.

I'd caught up enough to conclude my final contract with them, submitting about 8 or 9 pieces in the past 3 months. And I'm eager to continue writing, in what guise that may be I'm not sure.

The reason for closure, not exactly clear and I dont want to say too much, but I think the owner grew tired of waiting for a return on his investment.

Having paid for 30 months, and with the recent switch to PPV proving very unpopular, and arguably, poorly executed the last straw was placed on the camels back.

I noticed they'd gone to subscriptions. I don't think much of TSS's US coverage. When the American writers comment on anything from UK or Europe they always sounded like ignorant wankers & generally pissed a lot of ppl off.

I thought Katz hadn't posted an article there since October / November - what was that about? Have many of the writers began writing elsewhere yet?

The move to purely pay content was ill thought out and the wrong move in my eyes - they should have taken their lead from maxboxing.

Shame, as it had some good writers (apart from some wannabe for Suffolk

... )..

profitable business, internet writing. website owners are selfish shits who won't even let a writer get paid work on a rival site.

Important to remember I'm FROM Yorkshire, merely LIVE in Suffolk. An important distinction.

How anyone call themselves a writer and then begin every interview "Whats the latest and greatest with Lamon Brewster/Zab Judah etc..." is beyond me.

Boxingtalk are dreadful. Half of what they print is fighters slagging each other off.

But they are both desolate, remote hinterlands – surely they are effectively interchangeable?..

Although, in light of suffolk’s recent spate of hooker and turkey related catastrophes, I think I too would be claiming my Yorkshire roots!
