Rawling called the fight wrong and assumed Sprott was done. In hindsight he was wrong. Saying 'this is the heavyweights and anything can happen' - means 'these are some big monsterous punching beasts and 1 punch can close the show'

I think allot of people myself included saw Audley had flaws that could be exposed but just hoped he'd have corrected those flaws next time out. And in fairness to the big man his offense has looked well improved in his last 2 outings, he has the physical make up of a champ - 6'5, huge reach, muscular and ripped - just not the mental or skill.

Mr Nutrition, i agree with you. The worst thing about the whole shambles was that before he was chinned i was saying 'feck me Audleys improved a lot... hes really hitting with authority!'

He looked good, and then....... WHAM!

While I was surprised when Aude was chinned so quickly I sensed a turn around as Sprott started to rough Audely up and catch him with shots, you could see the panic growing in Harrison. Much the same thing almost happened in the Williams fight, just about the only decent punch that Danny threw got Audely all disorganised but Danny was too beat up by then to do anything about it... truth is Audely cant take it and probably knows that which is why he is so cautious.... I really lost hope in him after the Julius Francis fight...

Yeah, rewatching the fight you do see how Audley strangely seems to stop fighting in the 3rd as Sprott makes a go of it. That was the inexperience we're all talking about right there.

As for Jules.. we know the top world class heavies tend to stop Jules. And considering this fight he came in late notice and was 40 years old, yet Aud would only poke his way to a decision, that was warning sign for everyone..

Seeing as John had his prediction in writing, read by thousands, I hardly think he's going to try and make us think he knew Sprott was gonna win all along.

Surely it was just a case of him repeating that old cliche about heavyweights, how one punch can change everything ( though I've never really completely understood that saying...I mean I know they punch harder than anyone else on the planet, but P4P it's all respective isn't it? Naz was a P4P harder puncher than most Brit heavies etc )

And Duke just keeps getting better and better doesn't he? ( that's a joke

)

One punch can change everything in any fight. I think the implication is that it happens more often in heavyweight boxing, though I do wonder whether or not statistically that is the case. I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that Welterweight title fights actually had the highest percentage of KO endings.

Isn't that the point? The fact that we have to turn the sound off to enjoy a fight, is what seems to wind people up. My personal hate is Jim Watt when he says 5000 times in a fight, " he's got to up his wurk reat " Especially if the guy he slates wins. And no I dont care what he did in the ring, it makes him no more of an expert, than a scrap dealer is on engineering.

Called the fight wrong .... yeah. What he should have said as Sprott was dumped on his butt in the first round was. "I have a feeling this isn't over yet. He will get up and chin Audley in the third." That would have been a great commentary. The bookies had Audley at 7-1 ON so he was hardly alone in going into print thinking it would go Harrison's way.

At least Rawling corrected Duke when Duke said 'Harrison likes it up close it allows the uppercut to come into play.'

Rawling, 'but he's allowing Sprott to outwork him on the inside Duke.' Or words to that effect.

Back to Rawling, I still think a few are a tad over-critical of him but his failing to mention that the 'European' title being contested by Harrison & Sprott was a crock of shit is a good point, he should have said something.

unfortunately its similar to when sports network were on sky ..there was a lot a lickin aresholes.... i remember they once showed 2 rounds (and not even the full 6 mins) of HW (allegedly boy)JOhn Mcdermot losing to Mark Krence...... mcdermot might have just edged the two rounds but in his post fight analysis Barry Mac said 'from what we've seen there Mcdermot CLEARLY won the fight' ???????

and also the nice MR Warren spent 5 years slagging off audley and the wbf title...and didnt seem at all embarrassed tacking on the english title to the ridiculous EU title

Adam Smith came up with a good one the other night - the cameras cut to Kev Anderson's corner and we listened to his trainer speaking a 100 miles a minute in a Scottish accent that was so strong is was near impossible to understand a single word.

There was a pause after, then Smith said completely straight faced to Glen McCrory:

"So Glen, what did you make of his corner's advice?"

Excellent.....and Glen handled it quite well by quickly changing the subject.

Anyone else notice that?

Talking of Kevin ANderson, his last two fights, I had to listen to his post fight interview three times before I couls make head or tail of it, and I'm still not 100% what he was on about.........

All this seemed plausible, until I re-read the bit about a pause. Everyone knows Adam never pauses for breath, if in doubt go into raspy voice-over mode with discussions about how close Khaliq is to Vernon Forrest fight....etc,e tc, repeat.
