i heard Mundine just beat echols today,
does anyone think calzaghe will fight Mundine if he cant get his big fights,
i think so, allegedly has a history of getting oz fighters to fight on these shores, Mundine or green would be a good fight,

calzaghe: is Mundine a future Opponent
Re: calzaghe: is Mundine a future Opponent
Well that surprised me. From what I've been hearing the fight was close but I was sure Echols would find the punches to get rid of Mundine.
Mundine v Green perhaps isn't the formality is was once thought to be?

Really good win for Mundine. He has some ready made challengers in Danny Green and a boiled-down Briggs. I can't see Mundine taking on Calzaghe. He's too big in Australia to travel over here and Calzaghe is looking for a superfight as we know. If I were Joe, I would travel to Germany and give it a go against a fading Ottke. The money would be worth his while and I really can't see a Hopkins match coming off. Ottke's fight with Larsen is coming up over the weekend. That will be a good indicator of how much Sven has left. Larsen ain't bad.

A New WBA Champion!!! Well done Mundine...I was one of the few people who predicted he would outpoint Echols, who so many people grossly overrate.
Here's another Super Middle prediction for you. Sven Ottke will not be WBA (Super) and IBF champ much longer, and will be stopped by Mads Larsen when they fight!!! I am near sure of this, and have faith in my prediction.
I haven't seen much of Larsen, but hear he is strong, aggressive and can dig. IMO that is pretty much all you need to beat Ottke at this stage of his career. Ottke has looked awful in some of his last few defences, and if Ottke fights like he did against Starie...Larsen will have to be pretty limited not to beat him.

GITR - If you are proven correct it makes it all the more tragic that Calzaghe didn't get there first. WBA/IBF/WBO champ and an easy win to boot!
I think Calzaghe-Mundine is a real sexy clash, the whole Aussie/Brit thing is sellable, plus both are fairly charasmatic/controversial enough to sell it to the US, but as someone pointed out Mundine can make a few quid now against Green and Briggs. Maybe his team will show more balls than SN and push their man, to be far to Mundine he has gone for it so far.

Here's the Mundine fight report:

Great win for Mundine, took on the so called division's dangerman and wins in style - I'm sure his dad is a proud man!
I don't give the Danish pastry much chance at all - Ottke just has to stand up to win on points, and he's had enough practice that's for sure
