Lee Swaby floored Hobson

Post by bennie »

In my preview of Mark Hobson against Rob Norton, which takes place tomorrow night in Sheffield, I stated that there was nothing to really to separate the two men when you look at their respective fights with Lee Swaby (who they both outpointed). I've since learned that Swaby decked Hobson, and may have decked him more than once at that.
Norton outpointed Swaby with no such scares.
I still stick with my original prediction that Hobson will get home on points tomorrow night, but I feel the Swaby knockdown(s) should be mentioned.

Norton's not a huge puncher, but Hobson does like to hang that chin out to dry at times.

He's Ko'd Enzo (the WBU Champion), put down Hobson the commonwealth champion.

Is Swaby the real dangerman in the devision.

Wonder how many fights before Haye fights Swaby - he sounds like the test for Haye.

If my memory serves me correctly Swaby floored Hobson twice but lost a wafer thin decision.

Lee Swaby, as many know, sparked Enzo Maccaranelli. I've seen Swaby's last 3 fights and his punches look to carry very little venom in them - mostly just arm punches. The guy's he fought though were journeymen so possibly Lee wanted some rounds under his belt and he'll punch harder when he has to.

I think Hobson will sneak it tonight but this is a 50-50 match.

Lightsoot,

I don't know about you but sometimes I get the "feel" for fighters who are chinny even before they have been tested.

I'm afraid Hobson (I didn't know he was floored untill now) falls into this category, so does Audley. Enzo, well I know he chin isn't made of steel.

I agree that Lee Swaby is a dangerman and someone who deserves a crack at something. Perhaps, he'll get a shot at the winner tonight. Or, yes, let's see him in there with Haye, or even the WBU champ Maccarinelli again. Enzo keeps talking at how he's improved so much since losing to Lee and yet there's no talk of a rematch. Swaby's got to be better than that Yank they're flying over...
