Carl Frochs' carrer

his carrer seems to be a bit stagnent, he is now fighting someone who was a tricky opponent for Eastman but no great shakes on the world scene.

Why hasn't he fought for a European title yet, he seems to have done the work up to then.

He is 29 now and could do with bringing on those big fights, Im a fan of the guy but starting to worry

I kind of agree to a certain extent, but on the other hand, he's within grasp of a world title shot - he should get an eliminator if not a straight shot within a couple of fights. The European title would have been a nice addition, but I think he commentated about it pretty fairly that it's been going back too and fro (with all the politics to go with it) so much recently that he's not suffered as a result of not fighting for it (as yet.)

He is not too old to win a world title, but he is too old to earn the super-size purses he expected.

He is too old to be turned into a over-hyped super star...how long did it take Bernard Hopkins to get there

At best he will only ever achieve recognition as one of the many mediocre fighters lucky enough to have briefly held the title...how many of them have there been

Yeah the European title is like ping pong...hot and cold Tsypko wins a steal over Magee and loses in his first defence to the ordinary Jackson Chanet...he in turn loses to unexceptional Mger Mkrtchian (of Calzaghe "fame") and then he loses to fellow Russian David Gogiya. Whoever the hell he is

One would think Carl has a genuine chance if he was to get a Euro title shot.

But i would imagine a "world" belt would become available first.

I dont think gogiya is that bad actually, took tatesvoyan 10 rounds to the cards for the russian 168 belt, went 12 with Eric Teymor (only loss to Sam Soliman), and his last two have been against Mkrtcian and Chanet, Euro level fighters both. Im not saying hes elite, but he is at or about Froch's level IMO, he is what Boxing News likes to call 'useful'

I wouldn't disagree my friend, i have never seen him fight and he seemed to just appear from nowhere to take on the European hot potato which seemed like nobody wanted hold of. His wins are solid and i can't argue with his progress, would welcome seeing some footage of him if any was doing the rounds.

not a youtube friendly fighter lol, he is fighting Christian Sanecva (spelling?) soon, April I think, you could try and watch that, dont know where the fight is tho

i do know that the oppo holds a win over beyer (and a loss to him to lol), he went twelve with that danilo haouselr fellow, and he had 2 fights with morad hakkar (1 all again if i remember rightly) after hakkar went in with hopkins)

I'm been quite surprised tha Danilo Haussler hasn't had a second opportunity for the EBU title. He's had some decent wins since losing the belt.

yep just checked it out, who the hell are the other three? And sanavia (i will spell it right lol) was a close/fortunate one from the look of it

The Sarnavia fight was close, but warranted IMO.

I didn't mean that he was a Tito trinidad and taking on all comers. But the one WIN is better than the likes of Chanet and Gyogia had going into their EBU challenge. And Sarnavia hasn't fought anybody of class since the Haussler DEFEAT and still got the chance.

I just thought as Haussler seems to be a popular fighter in Germany, often featuring on TV undercards that he would have got a shot.

A Euro title shot would have been a surprise for Haussler but then again he is used to receiving gifts throughout his career
