Not sure of the round, but Greenberg stopped Luke Simpkin and looked good.

I'm a Greenberg fan, he has potential for sure. Good power, good skills, good speed... apparently has some good sparring with Mr Haye.

I'd argue that it was a good but not the performance of a future and legitimate heavyweight champion of the world from Greeenberg.

He's light on his feet and has a piercing jab. He worked Simpkin to the body well and was given him something of a pasting in the 4th. Because of what I've been told about Greenberg, I'm looking for something truly sensational every time I see him box. I'm not witnessing this yet.

As a normal prospect however he is progressing nicely. Jury very much out though for now.

I somewhat agree lightsoot...I'm yet to really be gripped by Greenberg.

Sure, he has great hand speed, and is a real nice mover. But I just have some niggling doubts about him.

Firstly, I have no proof of it but I feel he may have trouble holding a shot. From his last couple of bouts what I've noticed is how 'frantic' he gets when a punch lands against him. I don't mean 'rocked' or anything, but when he gets tagged he instantly begins trading back. It seems a sign of someone worried about taking a shot from a bigger man. Against Simpkin last night he got caught on the ropes once and then quickly started unloading. It was just the way he did it for me, he looked like a man who panics when he gets hit clean.
Maybe I'm clutching at straws, but I feel with his hands down, chin in the air style he may get sparked a couple of times by these big HW's.

Which leads me onto my next concern. His size. No matter what Bunce says, physically the guy is not imposing enough for the huge HW's around today. Could you imagine him fighting Audley Harrison or any of the other Goliath's up at HW? I can't he'd seem like a crusierweight in comparison. He's going to have it hard against the big boys.

I also don't think he has concussive power. This again, is half due to the size of him...but I also think he is just not a natural puncher. He likes to fight going backwards, and therefore at times doesn't get full leverage behind his shots, and as he moves up in class against big HW's this could be a concern.

Lovely handspeed, great footwork, pistol like jab...but still somewhat unsure about Mr Greenberg. Time will tell.

Agreed, seemed to me that there some extra sparkle missing about him, which you still need despite the quality of the current devision. I have told other people that I think Samil Sam would go further than Wlad cause the Ukrainian lacks that spark, his brother doesn't. It just he seems to be thinking all of the time instead of just letting go.

I remember that all story with Dempsey when he appologies to his corner saying 'sorry, I lost', he'd actually won by KO - but was still out on his feet he actually couldn't remember putting his opponent away. With Greenberg and Wlad while their technically better than Sam and Vitali, they lack the 'natural' instict of the latter fighters.

Perhaps I'm talking crap.

Still got time though.

It was my first look at Roman and I was impressed with what I saw. Good handspeed, power, footwork, jab and despite what some of you say about his size, he weighs what Tyson did when he cut a swathe through the Heavyweight division. And he has time to bulk up a little more e.t.c

Let's accentuate the positive guys!

Absolutely right Goz. Greenberg is the most promising Heavyweight I've seen for some time. He's lovely to watch, good jab, handspeed, feet, a real natural. I think he's got respectable power, but at the top level he will overwhelm fighters with his volume of shots. I reckon he would beat Harrison tomorrow, no problem. I saw him spar Sprott a couple of weeks ago. Greenberg humiliated him for six rounds.

This boy is one to watch and is such a rarity when you consider how well he fights on the back-foot. Only top guys can do this.

He's a natrual media darling, what with being a white Heavyweight who speaks five languages fluently. If I was allegedly I'd swap all my fighters (bar Ricky Hatton) for him. The financial possibilties for Greenberg are unlimited.

The difference between Greenberg and Harrison, Sprott, Williams etc is that Greenberg can become truly world class, wheras these guys are all in or approaching their 30's, Greenberg is only 21, has much more natrual ability than all of them and bags and bags of confidence. He knows he's good.

He also stays busy and fights again on 18th September at The Marriott hotel, Grosvenor Square, London. Audley take note.

Lets not forget, way back in 1996 when Danny Williams whooped a decent Michael Murray, he looked then a bit special.

While he (yet) hasn't fulfilled that potential, perhaps I am seeing the same with Greenberg. If you'd put that Williams display (given his age then aswel) and compare it with Greenberg, then I think Williams' was undoubtedly better.

I championed Williams for ages after that (even said the first Francis fight was just a blip) perhaps I don't appreciate Greenberg that much because I don't want to fall on my face a second time.

Thats an interesting topic, who do you think is better Williams in 1996 or Greenberg 2003.
