Mendy: Hide under contract!
It was announced today that former WBO heavyweight champion Herbie Hide has signed a promotional pact with Arene Box-Promotion, however promoter Edward Mendy says Hide is still under contact with his company, Lion Heart Productions. "After screwing us around for months, Hide now thinks he can go sign with another promoter and that we will just grin and bear it," said Mendy. "It just does not work like that. Mr. Hide has picked on the wrong guys this time. While Lion Heart usually does everything to avoid a fight, Lion Heart definitely always defends our itself at all times and will do what it needs to do to protect its contractual interests. Hide could have walked away with no strings attached, if he wanted to do things right. Hide has three legal rational choices: (1) retire, (2) honor his contract with Lion Heart, or (3) secure a proper release. Alternatively, he can involve himself in a lengthy and drawn out litigation and thereby consume the little time he has left in his career. If Mr. Hide chose to involve himself in another controversial breakup and perhaps burn his bridges, yet again, we will be more than happy to oblige him."

Why waste space and start another spread on the same subject?
Can the mods merge this one with the Hide comeback thread please.

Hides a Crusierweight now, though and he looked in excellent shape for his last fight. Still a great mover, fast hands and feet good punch power and variety.
If his chin holds up at 200 he could be about the best.

If hid is coming in under 200, then it makes you wonder how much he actually weighed in the ring as a heavyweight. I remember Chris Byrd saying how he used to drink loads of water and have a massive meal before getting on the scales to give the imperssion of being heavier than he was, and that on some occasions during training he would be under the 200 mark coming into the week of the fight.
In an interview after his last fight Hide said he always weighed under 200, even in his heavyweight days.jamesmcdonnell wrote:If hid is coming in under 200, then it makes you wonder how much he actually weighed in the ring as a heavyweight.
