What did anyone think of him last night? I know he had an easy opponent, but Denis showed some terrific footwork and looked pretty sharp.

inkin took a huge step vs veit and i expect very soon he will be extremely competitive with either calzaghe or kessler!! i just hope one of them has the stones to fight him!!viciousmaussa wrote:What did anyone think of him last night? I thought he looked horrible for the first five rounds, it was only when his opponent slowed down that Inkin began to look like anything resembling sharp. That stoppage was pretty horrible too,maybe it had something to do with Inkin having just picked up a bad cut.viciousmaussa wrote:What did anyone think of him last night? He did well to beat Veit, but if Veit can pick him off at a distance (I gave Mario 3 of 7 rds myself) then Kessler will have a field day. He looked good on Tuesday - very unhurried, but he was able to cut down a small target, break him down, make his opponent do all the work.
There is a lot of promise, but problems as well.
He's 29, yet he looks like he could do with 3 or 4 more fights before stepping up.
He also looks like a pressure fighter without a great deal of impact in his gloves.
IMO he makes a neat addition to 168. But of all the prospects Bute looks the readiest and Andrade has the opportunity.

He'll have some hard work - Calzaghe, Kessler, Mundine, Lacy, Beyer, Bute, Andrade...unless he goes for that IBF title.
Andrade, for me, is the equivalent to Pavlik. Huge offensive machine with a crippling punch and underrated ring generalship.
Big difference is GBP has let him sit on his title shot and not won the purse bid, so he's off to a foreign land, where the atmosphere is all diffferent, vs a master boxer.

the only ones you mentioned above who will be at inkin's level in 3-5 years is kessler, possibly bute!! as an american with many mexican american favorites, i must confess the protected overrated andrade is not one of them and kessler will handle him easily!!
calzaghe will be retired, beyer and lacy have been badly exposed and neither will be a factor again!!I don't like the way Andrade's career has been handled - sitting on the title fight - but I like the way he fights.
