The crowd starts singing loud and probably that scares the foreign fighter a little bit. That singing brings like strenght to the local fighter. For example, check the Nigel Benn fight vs Gerald McClellan. I know that Nigel had heart, but if the fight was in America, would he had the same courage like he had in that London ring with all that singing???
So you start off by insinuating we are bent and corrupt, but it turns out we are just loud, lol. Cos in America we box in silence.

I am not saying that you Englishmen are corrupt. No way at all. It just seems like to me that all that loud singing of the crowd like it gives a great confidence and strenght to the local fighter. I do not see that no where else in the world. It is very tough to win for a foreign fighter in those conditions in my view.

fair enough mate, its just what we do, Agincourt, the Blitz, football - we all clump together and have a sing-song, its part of the national character.

I have seen fights on tv from Mexico and Puerto Rico, and it is not compared to England in crowd noise and encouraging a fighter at all!!!

It was measured that premiership footballers have higher levels of testosterone when playing at home than away. The same could be said of boxers. There's been no study but it seems a fair assumption...

If this is so should boxing history be looked at in a different way so as to factor in how many great US fighters never (or rarely) fought abroad???

Dunno mate, you could always ask Doug De Witt, or Iran Barkley.
