Lots of title fights, lots of decent bills happening in the UK and abroad this weekend. Here is a big of the action.

Robert Norton vs Tommy Eastwood (English Cruiser Title).
Richard Evatt’s comeback.

Gammer vs Williams card (which looks tasty actually).

Allen Green vs Edison Miranda is a great match-up, both these boxers can punch, and its turned into a grudge match. I've no idea who's going to come out on top.

Israel Vasquez vs Rafael Marquez has the potential to be a fight of the year, both have good skills and can bang.

Sadly, Richie is off the Coventry card. He told me he picked up an arm injury in training is likely to be out of action for a few months. However, he hopes to be out on a show in Coventry in August.

I personaly think it's quite a good card I mean Phillips V Owen should be good , Hall V Watson should be a decent fight - and well the big 1 who can tell but it but it cant be any worse than some shows the big promoters put on - I understand theres 9 fights on in total - ive been too some dire events in London

Great weekend of action...Miranda V Green looks a great fight but Marquez V Vazquez is the pick. What a potential thriller, two Mexican warriors who can punch, great stuff.

I think Chris John will beat Rojas in their rematch, John wants Marquez again but in the USA this time.

I think Williams will surprise us and last the distance with Gammer but lose on points.

Miranda to KO Green who has punch resistance issues and questionable stamina.

Cotto to beat cagey Urkal on points.

Darchinyan to KO Burgos and call out Arce-Mijares winner.

Sylvester on points over Furlan, shame Asikainen was injured he looks one to watch at European level.

Wasn't Lloyd-Taylor V Hare on the Haye undercard? That wasn't a bad scrap. Akash Bhatia was on it too he is getting some exposure, warranted or otherwise.

to be honest i think the sky cards have gone down hill since fwanky went to itv

his were always predictable 80/20 fight sbut at least his lads were good - good skill level etc, skys cards are just like televised small hall show caliber fighters

Now that I COMPLETELY agree with, most thought it would all be smelling of roses with Warren at ITV and Sky picking up other promoters for their Friday Fight Night and still getting the odd US bill live or on delayed.

Now thought the SN bills are sporadic, Sky's live UK cards are sporadic and the undercard action is especially poor - get decent(ish) main events, but the undercards usually scrap the barrell. Too many promoters to boxers ratio and the promoters will not work together.

Maybe calling it "tasty" was a bit dramatic Ian, but no more so than calling it "Fooking awful". It IS better than the average bill and the original line up had some decent 50:50/60:40 matches IMO.

Give credit were it is due - I think Maloney has the right idea.... he's been putting on some very nice undercards of late. Although the Haye vs Fragomeni one was a dissapointment IMO.

Some toughies... I'm on the fence for Hall vs Green and Williams vs Gammer. Hall vs Green is a good competitive match up and I fully expect Gammer to have a big lead over Danny, but Danny has the power to close it with one punch late.

The Phillips will beat Owen, might be points or late stoppage.

Onto the world action.

I think Cotto will stop Urkal in a bit of a beating.
Agree with you Sylvester, Darchinyan and Chris John picks.

I'm going to go for Green to outbox Miranda in a bit of an upset.

Marquez vs Vasquez is a tough one - Marquez can be vulnerable but I do think he might have more left and is the better operator, so Marquez by Stoppage.

Campbell to beat Quiles on points.

Tempted to go for Berrio to upset Steiglitz - he seemed to be doing better untill he got careless last time - but again, who knows how the judges will see it. Good little scrap last time.

Certainly an upturn compared the summer. I don't know if Sky has put some more pressure. Seems like the main events that got alot of pre-fight hype by sky were given some leeway in terms of undercard. Two of Sky's more hyped fighters, Froch and Haye - don't seem to have the greatest of undercards.

Matchroom cards though aren't what they used to be. The recent Nuumbembe vs Anderson bill had an especially dissapointing undercard - as was Gammer vs Steeds.

Sky Friday fights have improved since sn left. British, commonwelath europena fights now, better than wbu dross. It be great if they showed boxing live from US every weekend. I would like to see Cotto fight this weekend. I am in States next weekend will Klitscko fight be live?

You mean will it be live in the States? Yes, HBO are showing it. The local start time means an afternoon broadcast in America.

Not too surprising, hope Norton gets inthe British mix sooner. Always wanted to see Norton vs Hobson II when Norton was more active. Quite a close fight to call now with Hobson's career not at the best stage.

I feel the opposite. Just alst year we had great fights and lots of'em. Best of the lot was Earl-Romanov, but there were so many good ones.
