Just wondering where you would place Darchinyan in a world P4P list. I think he's got to be knocking on the door in the top ten now. He is very underated and damn good. Good power and underated Skills. I have really enjoyed him on Shobox etc.
I would think he is in the top 10-15 at the moment but i win over Arce or unifying the 112 division would jump him up fairly high.
He is talking of jumping up 3 weights to fight Marquez it sounds stupid but the guy has balls of steel and no fear, He spars regularlly with Ndou and Ndou has said he hits as hard as 135 pounders. It would be unwise to jump up that many divisions but he could easily carry his power up to 115-118 i would think.

I do think we have a tendacy to not award the lighter weights with P4P rankings that justify their position. I had Resondo Alvarez in the lower half of the top 10 for years and when you have the likes of Marco Antonio Barerra saying that Ricardo Lopez is the best fighter to come out of Mexico - its a bit of a shame that he was never really in the top 5 P4P (with Marco usually ahead of him).Ben Keilty wrote:I would think he is in the top 10-15 at the moment but i win over Arce or unifying the 112 division would jump him up fairly high.

Haven't seen Vic fight recently but a few years ago he reminded me of a tiny version of George Foreman. He used to wind up his punches just like George and rely solely on power to beat his opponents. In one earlier career fight he was badly hurt and staggering around like a drunk. He got out of trouble on that occasion but it seemed to me that someone with a very good skill level would one day box his ears off

Right now I think he is top 20 but he is moving up the ratings with every fight... undisputed power and an extreme hunger to win will see him go a long way. It is great speaking to him, no matter who you ask him about (Arce, Parra, etc) he always says he will knock them out! Unlike some other fighters though there is something in his eye that tells you he REALLY means it!
I'd say around 25-30. A win over one of the other champs at 112 would move him up to the top 15 IMO. All he needs now is for one of them to step up and fight him.
I haven't seen his fight yesterday, but saw his two previous bouts and was impressed with the improvments he's made. He's made an effort to really shorten up his punches and as a result his handspeed looked much better. His defense against Donaire also looked a lot better than I'd seen it. While he was on the back foot from pretty much the first time he tasted Vic's power, when he did throw to the head Vic did well at slipping and blocking his punches. His defense to the body still seems pretty poor though but he didn't seem too concerned, despite Donaire being a reknowned body puncher.Haven't seen Vic fight recently but a few years ago he reminded me of a tiny version of George Foreman.

I'd say Darchinyan falls in that large second tier of fighters that goes from about 12-30 in the P4P list, depending on how you wanna rank them.
As far as quality of his opponents goes I'd say only Pacheco was truly top tier, but he has a pretty decent list of secondary opponents.
Ranking them I'd say
1. Irene Pachecho
2. Diosdado Gabi
3. Wandee Singwancha (x2)
4. Mzukisi Sikali
5. Luis Maldanado
6. Victor Burgos
7. Jair Jimenez
8. Glenn Donaire
9. Alejandro Montiel
10. Junior Ali

I just fulfilled my mandatory title defense a few weeks ago and since Jorge Farce (you can't spell Farce without A-R-C-E) has eaten enough lollipops to run away from me into another division, and the rest of the alleged "champions" in my division -- Lorenzo Parra (WBA), Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (WBC) and Omar Navarez (WBO) -- have refused to rumble with me in a unification fight, I might as well go for the only other champion everyone seems to be avoiding -- Jermain Taylor."

I think Vic is having a lend of anyone who is taking that seriously. I really hope he can land a big fight soon though. I'm sure he could move up a couple of divisions without any problem. If he could get Jorge "Farce" in the ring and better still knock him out that would be awesome (and it would shut a few people up as well).
