Napa vs Maldrottu.

Looking at BBN's schedule - the Napa vs Maladrottu card has some interesting returns.

Toney Oakey is back on a Maloney show fighting a guy named Josip Jalusic - does this mean he is no longer an SN fighter and back with Frank.

Jamie Moore returns after his hard hard fight with Macklin against Mugurel Sebe.

Also featuring Heavyweight prospect Scott Belshaw.

What does everyone think of the main event. Really hard to make a case for Napa given their respective performances over Damean Kelly. Even Maldrottu's first fight with Kelly was closer than Kelly vs Napa. I think it could be competitive but I just cannot see how Napa can win it.

Maldrottu points.

Yes Oakey is back with Maloney

I can 't see Napa winning, Kelly is a class above Napa.

Just goes to see that money does talk. I can remember Maloney being less than complimentary when both he hand Hunt turned to SN. With some justification (especially with Oakey).

I must admit, when I saw this fight in boxing news, I was quite surprised to hear that Napa was still fighting.

Napa is very comfortable in the ring. He doesn't look a likely winner but he'll do alright in there.

Justification (Especially with Oakey)? Explain. It was FW who financed Oakey's career from day one. Maloney cancelled more of his fights than he staged so Oakey was rightly was pissed off.

Maloney could have completely washed his hands with him after his public drug banning - but did give him an English title fight on the Bennett vs Earl bill.

Sorry Chaps I have Lied it was not FW who financed the early part of Oakey's career it was Maloney with Panix's money.

Oakey only joined SN whwn Maloney was taken on board at Sports Network.

Sorry for telling such a lie.

But not many people in boxing tell the truth anyway.

Anyone got any reports on how this fight went? Looking at the scorecards it seems like Napa gave a reasonable account of himself.

I missed a few rounds but it looked like a clear win for Maludrottu. Napa's lack of power was a big factor, still he put up a tough fight.

Napa gave a very good account of himself, was just too small and couldn't hit hard enough to realistically win the fight. When he gave his all (8th round) he looked great but it would have taken a massive effort to sustain it.

Good fight, think Maludrottu beats Power and Haskins as well

I dont know what I was watching then because I had it closer than what the judges had it and most people ive spoke to think the decision was right but I wouldnt have been suprised if Napa got the decision, I could go as far to say I thought he nicked it, maybe im just a fan of Napa's style of fighting and was a bit biased and maybe watching to much of Napa and not Maludrottu. If anything its been a lesson to me then because I suppose everybody cant be wrong and im the only one who's right so it shows me that when we do get bad decisions or difference of opinion its most prob down to the judge only watching one fighter instead of both, I like to think that when I watch fights I have an open mind and am fair in judging what I see, but it goes to show we are all human and can make mistakes which I must have done in scoring last nights fight. My heart goes out to Ian Napa, he tried so hard and has been so unlucky in the big fights. I hope his time comes

I actually thought the opposite. I agreed with Jim Watts card from the later rounds - but I thought Maldrottu took more of the earlier rounds than Watt gave. Although it was competitive.

Maldrottu is okay but still cannot understand what happend to Kelly over in Italy - watching him again, I would have thought Kelly would beat him 10 times out of 10.

Napa should have stuck to the body. He hurt Maldrottu in the 8th.

Kelly announced his retirement after the Maludrottu rematch.

Would Kelly have enough still to handle Munyai though? Munyai's great but Is still In his building up stage surely?

As Max says, I think Kelly has announced his retirement. Was a Kelly-Munyai fight ever on the cards? I don't recall ever hearing about it.

I will say that it's a shame we can't/won't see Maludrottu-Munyai. That would be a good fight to see who deserved to go on to world-class. I think Munyai would give the Italian all he could handle. And then some.
