Hatton v Castillo publicity

I've booked my flights to Vegas for the fight. Anyone else going? Knowing my luck JLC won't make weight or Ricky will lose an arm in a drinking game 3 nights beforehand or something.

When will tickets go on sale?

They don't have the balls or integrity to do otherwise...not on past or recent evidence at least.

The IBO are just another leech on the boxing world - maybe they only "sanction" quality fights, but the reality is they are just jumping on the bandwagon when a decent fighter or fight comes around.

Any old Joe Schmo could do the same.

I wouldn't write off the IBF coming back on board is Ndou and Gatti square off as it will be a Welterweight fight.

The IBO are a weird sanctioning body though, even by the low standards of the breed.: They've made their title available for Hatton/Jones jnr/Lewis/Mayweather etc, but they've also been responsible for the odd Colin Lynes fight on Bravo.

My point, which Max was totally missing, no matter what he says, is that whilst Hatton-Castillo is for a shit title, it's still a proper fight. Do you really think SKY will be building this up as an IBO fight? Nope, neither do I. It'll be called the 'world light-welterweight' championship', or maybe billed as 'Two Worlds Collide', or maybe 'Champions'

At the end of the day, Hatton-Castillo is a fight we all want to see. Who gives a flying one about the title? As I said, SKY binned crap titles because of crap fights. This is not one of them. Or are you all pissed-off that we don't get to see the likes of Mark Hobson versus Pavol Polakovic?

I wasn't missing anything I know was a proper fight. I know It's a proper fight.

Regardless of the fight I thought SKy wouldn't show minor titles like the IBO or WBU. Hatton can't have a fight without any kind of belt on the line. He's a titlephile.

If Witter held belts like the IBO and still fought decent opponents you know Sky wouldn't play favourites then.

The IBO belt may not be mentioned but Hatton and Castillo were both holding one end of the belt to show there fighting for that.

The IBF had a pretty good rep when they first sprung to life - handing out their titles to good fighters like Larry Holmes, who'd been stripped of the WBC strap, and look how they turned out when the money started rolling in.

Hatton/Castillo is a good fight no doubt, and I'll pay to watch it, but no way is it the super fight or defining fight it's being passed off as: Hatton will AGAIN be a hot favorite against a boxer who HAS seen better days.
