Barney/Bute

Post by Roars Like Me »

This fight seems to be on, Barney coming in as a late one.
If Bute knows nothing about Barney, which I suspect he doesn't, he's in for a frustrating night.
Come on Barney :box: :box: :TU:

Not sure, I supect it's for his WBO inter-continental title.
Regardless it could well be a world title shot if he wins, I know that is an if.
Bute could be too green for him though, I hope!

Is Bute elligable for the Commonwealth? I know he's Canadian based but he's got Romanian nationality.

I wouldn't hold too much hope for the Barney upset Bute will be all over him.

I don't know. I'd say Bute has the talent and probably learned enough vs Salem, Mock, Tatvosyan, Thysse. Barney might just be 1 more style that he has to solve.

barney is defensively sound, slippery like soloman (used to be !!! lol), barney holds a lot and frustrates opponents. but he also has a decent jab on him too when he uses it.

Not telling, your proably Lucian's best mate :D
He is always on his bike and can do it for the whole fight, he's annoyting to watch for alot of people but I don't mind it personally!

He beat Ulrich at a canter for me, no suprise that the points went agianst him in Germany.
Although he did struggle against Froch, I have to admit that.

I'm a little disappointed with this fight .. because I saw tatevosyan on his bike 3 month ago and it might happen agains !

I doubt Barney Bute will be a lot of fun to watch, but Lucian may learn a fair bit from it as Barney is always horrible and arkward to fight.

As for Bute Froch I would like to see it and it would be a good fight for both of them, whether Froch would take it is another matter. When recently he said he wanted to get Kessler to fight him in Nottingham (which will never happen) it made me wonder how willing he is to take risks.

Bute's last opponnent (except toney) was all horrible to watch .. some of my friend are bored of this!

Bute/Froch would be a nice eliminator for a title shot. Now are they willing to take risk and one of them not fighting at home.

Frcoh does talk a lot of shit, Kessler aswell as Calzaghe now is it :o I suppose he has to be seen to be making the right noises even if he doesn't fancy it.

His one line I did like whne asked about Calzaghe made me laugh though.

Bute

Post by Box Office »

I think Bute vs Froch would be a interesting fight,
I would think the power of Froch would be too much for the Canadian.
Bute has been matched well to this point, But Bute has no work rate, Froch is in a different league!

If the fight takes place in Montreal, all Bute would haveto do ,is sit back, survive and jab. He get the win and that's how the fight would go in Canada. But if the fight happens elsewhere and Bute has to be aggressive
Froch will KO him 100% Great fight!!

I agree that the fight would be interesting and I'm really not sure of the outcome. Forch is more powerfull .. i agree, yes bute COULD jab and run but that bute has no work rate !! I could not disagre more.
Bute can do 12 round and can throw a huge amount of punch in a very short time. In the toney fight he did throw over 70 punch under 1 minute in the 4th round.

I don't think Bute would jab and run against Froch. I think he would jab, control and utterly dominate, completely robbing Froch of the chance to fire any of those bombs he relies so heavily on.
Froch will NOT be able to work his usual bull-fighter style against Bute. Bute is just too skilled, too big and too clever for that.
Think there's a big chance Froch would completely crumble within a few rounds.

Bute would ruin Froch. It'd be a massacre. Bute should however take on a fresh/flawed young fighter. Froch or Allan Green would be a perfect step up. Lucian would beat the shit out of both.

froch beats bute any day of the week, froch holds his power and stamina throughout the fight. any time after the 9th....bute would fall.

I used could in uppercase because bute have the ability to do it, however I think like you he would fight a different fight.

Bute vs Froch

Post by Box Office »

I really think you should consider that Froch is a creative fighter, Bute has one style. Froch could and would have a answer for anything Bute could do. Froch has more power, I also think Froch could even out box Bute. Bute is stiff as a board, wait till somone like Carl hits him. I just do not feel the same way about Bute as others do, I do not rate him!
In that fourth round that Bute fired 70 punches in under a min. , He could not get the lad off his feet.
Bute had that string of KO's against sub par fighters, now he looks flat every time out. We have not even seen a bit of what Froch is able to do, as he keeps stepping up, we'll impress more and more...

I agree. People who complain about Froch's work rate are deluded. Froch matches the rate of his opponent.

If Bute fights fast so will Froch, if Bute fights slow so will Froch. A fast fighter might land more punches but will leave himself wide open for one of Froch's bombs.

Froch vs Bute

Post by Box Office »

These two wont be fighting anytime soon
They both draw too well at home and where would they fight?
Nottingham and Montreal are out, way too much of an advantage.
with the Trans-atlantic flight, Officals, crowd etc
They wont want to go to the others home town.
So that fight would go to a bid if it would called as a eliminator,
I think it would be too much money to make that fight.
I love the thought of it, just not gonna happen!
