i have the film of the louis/buddy baer fight and terap describes it correctly. one hell of a fight....buddy actually had louis backing up...a rare occurence in itself..and that's when baer knocked him through the ropes. joe did come back to give buddy a beating, but not before baer put up a great fight. rematch..louis kayo in first..the usual for his rematches.

oops..back to the questions at hand. considering how many "champions' there have been for such a long time now, I wouldn't be surprised if joe walcott he barbados demon was the last undisputed welter.

seriously, this whole undisputed problem makes these questions tougher than they look....and that includes question #10.

to elucidate....akinwande dq against lewis. tyson dq against holyfield. now, if one was for the heavyweight title, then what was the other for? should both answers be correct, giving us two to add to louis/baer and schmeling/sharkey (which should count)....or just one, which leaves two more unaccounted for.

now I'm sorry i brought the whole thing up...but I always wonder how many answers like this would be judged as right or wrong on a tv quiz show.

wouter....interesting...the holmes/cooney fight technically was a disqualification as cooney's cornermen came into he ring when cooney went down....yet it's is seldom liosted that way. i forget how it was announced at the end of the fight. a shame to take ther kayo away from holmes, as cooney wasn't going to get back up, so i suppose that's why it's almost always listed as a kayo.

I beleive one of my uncles, Joe Lee, also has scored a win over Kid Chocolate. I don't know to much about the history of the fight but i will try to get more information.
I am told that my father and my six uncles all fought on the same bill once in london. And I think this is a record that still stands.
