That would be the Australian Jimmy Carruthers...who was also Australia's first universally recognized word champion.

Serious question:
Did he by chance injest the tape worm on purpose to help him lose weight?
After all back in the early 20th century beauty magazines sold "pills" to help women lose weight without diet and exercise. These "pills" were actually tape-worm larve.
