Pavlik all the way for me although Miranda will give him plenty of hairy moments.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has just announced that Top Rank and Wariors Boxing have reached an agreement to pit Edison Miranda and Kelly Pavlik against eachother in a world title eliminator.

Edison Miranda is coming off a one-sided victory over previously unbeaten Super Middleweight prospect Allen Green on HBO.

Kelly Pavlik is coming off a one sided stoppage victory of his own against Jose Louis Zertuche.

"The WBC has been informed that the representatives of WBC No. 1 ranked middleweight Kelly Pavlik and No. 2 ranked Edison Miranda have reached an agreement for their final eliminator," stated a press release sent out by the World Boxing Council.

The release went on to state "...and the purse offer for that fight, which had been scheduled for today, has been cancelled."

More details will follow.

How good is whitey? He doesn't seem to have been tested, so surprised to see him in with the crude but freakishly powerful Miranda.

Howard Eastman where are you? Should have tested Pavlik against Eastman before Miranda, surely?

I think Pavlik has been able to show a few things against McKart and Zertuche. The arsenal of punches seems to be pretty formidable & he seems well balanced and in control of what he's doing.

Muhc more polished than Miranda. Miranda looks crude but is sneaky with his power shots. This is a really good fight.

Pavlik is more polished which leans me towards him, he is also ambidextrous and holds power in both hands. The one punch KO of Zertuche was impressive and the wy he adjusted his style to deal with the more experienced McKart was also impressive. Miranda is always dangerous but i see him being defused and outboxed.

I've been speaking to a guy in the Miranda camp and they have been after this one for a while - I can;t see Pavlik causing Miranda many problems - if Pavlik gets past rnd 3 he'll be doing well, rnd 5 and he's living on borrowed time. Should be a corker!

Pavlik will make it past round 3 i would imagine, Miranda is pretty raw i expect Pavlik to do a boxing job on him from the outside.

I just don;t think that Pavlik's build will hold up to Mirandas power - he's too gangley.

Any idea when this will happen - Miranda seems to be putting in a fight ever 3 months, so hopefully it will be June!

I think Miranda's going to get found out soon. He has a lot of substance to him - doesn't mind taking on top opposition - but I just think we've seen the best of him.

I thought he'd add more head movement and body punching to become a Colombian version of Nigel Benn, but I don't think it's happening. Miranda will have his run - like Lacy - and then it'll be over.

Pavlik's punch repertoire, combinations, accuracy, variety should have 'Pantera' badly outgunned. Of course, Pavlik can get caught by one of those sneaky rights but he should have too much ring generalship for this kid.

For Miranda read Ricardo Mayorga... don't know whether Pavlik is the one to expose him but much like the other crude brawler I've just mentioned he'll be found out at the top level soon enough.
