I was advised by Emile to drop a post in this thread as well, regarding my uncle, Joe Henderson.
Joe was a miner at Broken Hill and fought at 9st 4lb (Lightweight) around 1911 -1925. For a number of years he also ran a Gym in William Street, Broken Hill just behind the Mulga Hotel.
He was heavily involved in the amateur scene for many years and had many fights, but there are no records held by the NSWABA and I have not been able to find anything of him until I read of his two fights on this site against Gen Redcat in 1914 and Sid (Papworth) Sullivan in 1915.
Like most people doing a bit of family research, I never started asking questions about my relations until all of the people who could help me were dead. Now I'm trying to catch up. :(
