Help with Jack McDermott and the 1924 Olympics...

I'm writing an article on Jack McDermott and his amateur days under the sponsorship of St. Bartholomew's church in NYC.
It's this Jack McDermott under the records here on the site:
Jack McDermott
Nationality US American
Hometown Brooklyn, NY
Division Flyweight

I've seen it in print that he was chosen as
a member of the U. S. Olympic Team for the games held in Paris in 1924. I can't seem to confirm if he actually boxed in that Olympics or if he was chosen and didn't fight. Can anyone confirm that he participated in the Olympics of '24? Thanks.

McDermott was a member of the '24 team (flyweight), but didn't start.
