Some help please.

I'm an American and I would like to know from some people in Europe who you guys see as the best of the best in weight class that you think Americans haven't heard of. You know, prospects, BBBofC champs, that kind of thing. Think there is anyone who really should be a big name but isn't. I just want to see a non-american hyped answer for once. I appreciate it.
P.S. What are your takes on Khan and Joe C. (yeah their known by Americans but maybe you guys have a different perspective.)

Well, anyone who calls themselves FinitoLopez deserves respect! Welcome.

Hard to know who you might know and might not as Americans are normally so insular but two from the top of my head who are up there but might not have hit your radar are:

David Haye (if he could only make cruiser again he'd make a big impact - nevertheless, he still might do so at heavyweight)

Carl Froch (in the shadow of Joe Calzaghe at super-middle over here but highly ranked by world bodies)

Peter Buckley (a very green, unexposed prospect who just needs a bit more experience before storming the world scene)

(I jest about Peter who has some common ground with your Reggie Strickland!)

Whoah. Haye really might do something at Heavy. Maybe. I appreciate it. As for the professer that is just incredible. I saw what I assume was a recent photo and was impressed he actually still had a normal looking face. I'm really amazed people keep renewing his license. Thanks 'Mr' McNeilly.

Carl Johanneson is worth keeping an eye on, his division is probably too strong for him to make a big impact above Euro level but he's entertaining and seems to be improving.

In terms of non-British Euro prospects, I like what I've seen so far of Polish Middleweight Grzegorz Proksa

my top "prospects" at the moment

Alexander Povekin heavy
Gennady Golovkin middle
Aleksander Alekseev cruiser

all outstanding amateurs so i am sure you have heard of them.

If he turns pro Roman Romanchuk could be very useful too

Getting the big build up in the UK, alongside Khan and also with Warren, is young Kevin Mitchell - a Jr Lightweight with the looks, attitude and punch ( ?? ) who could end up a star...IF he lives up to the hype. And yes that's a big IF.
Not many fans of him on this board though, as he's cocky and his matches have been poor at times.

One of the best Europeans I've seen, already a WBO champ but no doubt unknown in the USA, is lightmiddle Sergiy Dzinziruk. He looks the real deal and might be the best at 154 already.

Can't see Mitchell doing anything at real world level. In fact im sure as i can be that he'll get sparked as soon as he's out in with a half decent puncher. His defense is lapse, he thinks he punches harder than he actually does, he's just not that good. He makes or exciting fights but he's not a fighter that America needs to be concerned about.

What about Alex Arthur? He's still not as well known as a man of his talent deserves to be.

Not 100% sure, but I get the feeling Mitchell does actually punch pretty hard - he certainly gets his weight behind the shots, and they've been putting him in with durable types lately.
I admit I like his attitude...as long as he keeps it as he steps up the comp...reminds me a little of West Ham's Mark Kaylor in that way.

And yes I was gonna mention Arthur too.

Just a shame Alex is in the deepest toughest division in world boxing. He stands zero chance of being a "proper" champion although It wouldnt surprise me if Mr Warren manouvered him an IBF title shot.

I think the U.S. will appreciate John Murray's style of fighting. He's already impressed in America before and also in Canada.

Yeah like I say I rate Proska from what I've seem of him. He has a cracking boy attack, he does seem to get cault a lot too however, but he's still learning I think.

Look forward to seeing more of him in the future.
